I like this DVD cuz Shiva Rea is really good. She answers most of the common pregnancy v.s. exercise/ yoga question, explains each movement well, and has 2 other ladies who are both pregnant in different trimester.

The DVD is really relaxing, it helps you stretch and breath so well, and it also takes you to do some kegel exercise. This yoga DVD really isn't the same as her other DVDs, they are not moving so fast, and there aren't a lot of muscle strengthening.

What I am not sure about it, after the workout, I don't feel like I got any 'real exercise,' and I'm not sure if I should or should not feel that way. I have always been a "hard core" exerciser, and even with yoga, I would always feel muscle sore afterwards. Now since I'm pregnant, I shouldn't feel exhausted or tiredness, but I'm just so not used to it.

  Great Yoga Video

I bought this because there were no prenatal yoga classes in my area. This video was a good yoga video for beginners, although it did have suggestions for ways to deepen the stretches if you were more advanced. I felt great after the workouts.

  Not bad for a beginner

I enjoyed this video very much. The intensity level was just right for me and it was relaxing at the same time. The only thing I didn't like was the number of props it required me to have (a chair, a blanket, exercise bands...)

There were several maternity Yoga vedios these days. I chose this one for my wife bacause It looks like a standard and many sellers sell this one, on the other hand, the majority of pregnant women wants this item based on the best selling item. Actually I didn't see the video yet but my wife do Yoga with this vedio. She said it's fairy well but It doesn't seem to be focused to Yoga beginners who are pregnant women cause it has a lot of difficult positions. I think It's a text book of prenatal Yoga if you are a little familar with Yoga, Otherwise, you can try another basic version for prenatal Yoga. Thanks

It's OK for very slow movements. I would rather have something that challenges me more. It is a little long in length. I didn't feel the benefits the next day. It is probably better for late pregnancy.

  works for me

I take prenatal classes at a local yoga studio, but I just needed something to help me do yoga during the week because I couldn't afford to go to a class more than once a week. This video does the trick for me. I don't love the teacher in the video. I think she is a bit slow, and sometimes it sounds like she just throws is yoga words and phrases that don't fit. The video taught me some tips for a few poses, but it is not very helpful for practicing a tradiational yoag breath because she doesn't remind you to breathe very often in the video. But again, I am getting what I need out of the video. I only do the first two segments because I think the "floor work" segment is stressful on my knees and just uncomfortable all around. The final relaxing segment is just not what I need to start my day. This is a great video if you have $8 to spend and you need a little more yoga in your life.

I thought it would be too easy as it is for preggers but it wasn't! It had just the right amount of difficulty for each trimester.

I love this dvd for the simple ways to stretch at any point in your pregnancy. You feel relaxed and energized all in one after finishing the process. It is a great way to be at peace for 50 minutes...

  Best Prenatal DVD Out There
Review created: 07/04/09

I was a devoted fan (and still am) of Yogazone Postures for Pregnancy until I got Shiva Rea's DVD during my last pregnancy. I alternated between these two DVD's every day of my pregnancy and I have been doing the same with my current pregnancy. The key difference between the two is that Shiva Rea features two women in their 2nd and 3rd trimesters respectively in the Yoga session (while she is in her first), and each woman has very clear and appropriate modifications for their stage of pregnancy which has proven to be invaluable to someone like me who has pre-existing joint and back pain.

In addition, the Shiva Rea DVD has a great deal of side/hip-stretches throughout, as well innovative moves that incorporate belly-dancing, calisthenics, kegel exercises and more. You really feel as if you've had a thorough, advanced workout afterwards but it has not hurt you. The music is GORGEOUS and well chosen for Yoga/relaxation. There is a beautiful guided meditation at the end and Shiva Rea just leaves no stone unturned in this Yoga session.

To be fair to Alan Finger and his ex-wife Greta (so sad), the Yogazone DVD is also amazing in its own right. It is very low tech in comparison to Shiva Rea's, but Alan Finger is the greatest Yogi Raj of his generation and just a joy to watch and to learn from. I derived tremendous benefit from this DVD as well in both of my pregnancies. So please get both of them!!!

This DVD makes me sleep better, warms my muscles so i have little aches, clears my mind, connects me to my baby and stretches me out completely. I love this DVD, i bought another prenatal yoga DVD and it doesnt even compare to this. This is a beginner level definitely but if total relaxation after is what you desire look no further.

  Love the DVD
Review created: 12/10/08

I used this DVD through my entire pregnancy 3 years ago, I just bought it again for my second pregnancy because I borrowed it and never got it back. I used it a lot and felt great afterwards. The exercises improved my overall feeling while I was adjusting to my new body and gave me more energy throughout the day lessening my cramps and pains. Really loved it, would buy it again!!!!

I like this DVD a lot. The stretching, especially as you get bigger, is helpful in releasing tension in your back and legs. But the names of these women--Poppy? Britta? Come on. And what is the deal with EXSALE? It's exhale!

  Excellent buy for the money!
Review created: 08/07/08

As an individual who likes doing yoga in a class setting, I found this a bit slow paced for me. Shiva Ray, however, has a very soothing voice and for the moderate yoga enthusiast, this pace may be considered perfect. I love that it showcases three women in different stages of their pregnancy so that you have a personal guide for the necessary modifications given your personal trimester. Overall, I feel more relaxed and my muscles are comfortably stretched opposed to tight and tense.
