Prehistoric Planet: The Complete Dino Dynasty (DVD, 2003)

If you have the "Walking with Dinosaurs", don't waste your time and money: this DVD is an adaptation of the original series for kids (at least supposed to be).
Poorly done.

This product is a "dumbed down", informal soundtrack applied to some of the terrific "Walking with Monsters", etc. series visuals - more informal for younger kids (whom they assume like a little more silliness and wish to remain ignorant as to the actual science). There is far less information than the main series; the film itself is an edited duplicate from the series. Even so, most anything the BBC produces is quality, and when they "film" dozens of ferocious dinosaurs there is no exception. These things sure look real and my kids love them. I should add that he DVD is, however, absolutely steeped in evolutionary thinking. (Since I took the time to actually investigate the modern creation science movement I just can't believe all that "millions of years" dogma anymore - there are just too many contrary scientific facts.) So, I prefer the original four (?) DVD BBC dino series, but if you just want one DVD for a real young dino-lover, this is the one to get. Seeing dinos march around and eat each other just as if they were alive today is terrific.

I love dinosaurs and all shows about dinosaurs. I especially love the computer animated shows about dinosaurs.

I bought Prehistoric Planet after my 3 yr old son saw the "adult" version, Walking With Dinosaurs, on tv. I looked for a copy of it, and discovered that they had made a kids version (Prehistoric Planet). He loves dinosaurs, and he wanted to see a movie w/"real" dinosaurs, not ones that "talk" (ie, cartoons, like The Land Before Time). He is thrilled w/Prehistoric Planet, and even tries to follow along in the book about Walking With Dinosaurs that has scenes from the movie. Very pleased w/the realistic dinosaurs and the version for the kids. It's not so scary or graphic, even though he is learning that some dinosaurs ate other animals and dinos. I would recommend this to anyone who's child loves dinosaurs!

Great dvd for children to learn about dinosours. I even like to watch it. This keeps the full attention of my 2 and 4 year year old. Highly recommend.

Very realistic! My son is 5 and he loves it, it isn't too gross for him- but may be for some younger ones. He want's to watch it over and over and has learned all the dinosaur names!

IT hs been over a month and still no DVD , got excuses like backordered and then that it was lost in mail, then it went to wrong address and now over a month later They go back to the excuses that it is backordered again. Sorry but they promised me that they would ship it back out as soon as it came back from the wrong address, SO HOW CAN IT BE BACKORDERED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!VERY POOR COMPANY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Do not buy from them .

This is a great dvd. The mini-series is awesome. IT's not boring, & it held my 3yr olds attention. It's informative & interesting. If you're interested in dinosaurs, you will enjoy this dvd.

My son loves dinosaurs. I thought he would enjoy this DVD. He does (my daughters even like it.) I wish it would have come with more than one 3D glasses. It is educational and funny (i hear them laughing while watching it in my SUV.) Great buy!!!!

it is smart, funny, fascinating, well done - my kids (5 and 7 yrs old) have watched this dvd over and over and over again and now tell me all sorts of things that I didn't know about dinosaurs.

I bought this movie for my 5 year old son who completely loves dinosaurs and he truely enjoyed it. Even the adults have found it entertaining. I would recommend it to anyone who has children that like dinosaurs.

DVD is great. Kids love it! It includes many of the episodes they have watched on the discovery kids channel.

they were understanding and very nice. these people mailed out the video in a good timely mannor. i cant wait to receve it. Will very much order from them again. Also will pass their name around to others looking for great deals and great finds.

What a joke. The fairy tales presented in this BBC psuedoscience-documentary want the viewer to believe in a evolutionist viewpoint. God is ultimately in control. Myth, fantasy and a great computer animation are all that is presented. If evolution has a chance of occurring, the viewer needs to believe in the religion of evolution!!! Look at the odds that statisticians put evolution actually occurring at? 6.24 billion billion!!! Can you say impossible?!?!?! Thank you the BBC for bringing this to our attention. You have really good computer animators but that is it! A lot of what if's don't support.....well anything. And I am a scientist. All I can say is "Thank you God!"

I bought this as a gift for my son, he loves dinosaurs. He watches the dvd over and over. Plus its educational. Good narration and graphics.

I boughtprehistoric planet:the complete Dino Dynasty a month ago in I was very happy to have the oportunity to be able to found it since my son loves dinosaurs,We were very satisfy with the movie,its a great movie for kids in adults too, you sure learn a lot and if you're like to learn about dinosaurs, this is a great movie that I highly recommend.

I originally rented this DVD from Netflix, and enjoyed watching it with my grandsons so much, I decided to purchase a copy.

My grandsons are young - so movies like "Jurassic Park" are a little too intense for them to see now. But Prehistoric Planet: The Complete Dino Dynasty is OK for kids because there are no people interacting with these critters - ust lots of action, lots of imagination, and lots of fun.

And I must say, it is very educational. I thought I knew quite a bit about dinosaurs, but this took me to a new level of understanding, and appreciation for our "Prehistoric Planet".

The producers tell each story depicted in the half-dozen chapters from the perspective of one of the dinosaur "stars". I think it is very well done.

I bought this for my 4-1/2 year old daughter because she LOVES dinosaurs... This is a great movie for you dinosaur fans. My daughter loves watching this movie over & over again & then she runs around the house pretending to be just like the giant T-Rex in the movie.
