"Prefontaine" is a very emotional, and very true story.
I give it 100 A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Jared Leto who plays Steve Prefontaine, is awesome in his acting.
His portrayal of the Olympic Athletic from Coos Bay, Oregon is spectacular and very real.
Mr. Leto gave this performance, as he does with all his performances, the total attention and passion it deserved.
No other actor in my opinion could have done such a magnificent job in this role.
At a very young age, Steve Prefontaine tried very hard to live up to his personal expectations of himself especially in sports as a young boy, always striving to be the best, and having felt the need to always proving it.
His size, and weight were an issue as he was smaller than most boys his age.
But he found his passion and place in the world ofTrack and Field as a champion runner in his High School years.
He was discovered during his High School performances in his races, and his future builds from here making him a huge name in Olympic History.
A hero if you will.
Steve Prefontaine was the USA's Gold Medal hopeful in the 3 mile race in Track and Field at the 1972 Munich Games.
The 3 mile race was known as the least glorified race, but Steve changed all that with a great attitude and performance, and it's now one of the top races also known as the star race since Steve gave it a new place in Olympic History.
All hell broke loose during those games in which the entire Jewish Team and coaches were killed by terrorists who demanded that prisoners from their country be set free.
Steve and his team mates were not harmed, but the impact of the horrifying experience impacted the entire Team, and it showed in their performances on the field.
He would be the top contender and Gold Medal hopeful again for the 1976 Montreal Games.
But "Pre" never made it. He was sadly killed in a Car accident after hosting a Track Meet at Oregon State with the team from Finland who became friends with the US Team.
He personally invited the Fin's to the USA where they all competed together with honor and good sportsmanship.
After fighting with the Olympic Commitee, the race was finally sanctioned, and Steve broke barriers that were otherwise unbroken for all US Olympic Athletes.
Very sad tragic ending for such an inspiring Athlete.
I remember this day vividly and am in tears writing about the memories.
The story of Steve Prefontaine is a very memorable and precious one for me.
I will never forget the Munich Games, and the fact that I saw Steve Prefontaines last Olympic performance at those games.
I love this movie because it's very true to it's content.
I am a huge fan of the Olympic Games, and the Munich Games were my very first to watch at the age of 12.
I have never missed an Olmpiad Since my first in 1972, and always remember Steve Prefontaine when watching the Track and Field events.
This movie is very dear to my heart, and I don't think anyone could have portrayed Steve Prefontaine as well as Jared Leto did.
He is spectacular on the big screen as much as he is on stage with his band,
30 SECONDS TO MARS.
A multi talented, very smart, and a pleasure to look at young man.
He puts his heart, soul and entire being into his roles no matter what they are, and makes the movie, his.
God's blessings to Mr.& Mrs Prefontaine, and may Steve ("Pre") rest in peace.
A true American hero.
There is nothing to dislike about this movie. It's honorable in many ways.
