precious Stones Vol 2 by Max Bayer
Material for the book is dated (beginning of the twentyth century but even so a great deal of useful information with regard to the various genstones, known at the time, is found. As a historical reference the book is excellent but not an 'easy' read. The amount of information that the author gathered is really astounding. A section on the identification of various coloured stones is especially useful. This is a book for the serious collector. The book is a follow-on to book one with the page numbers in sequence with Vol. 1. The two volumes, I bought the other seperately, will remain on my work area indefinately.
