Poetic, gritty, realistic, fantastic - all these things come together to make Powwow Highway. The story revolves around Philbert and Buddy, two men who must go on a 'quest' in their 'war pony', a beat up old car that barely seems to hold together. It has some wonderfully written scenes that I fell in love with (such as the fight scene outside the bank). It's loaded with humor and wisdom. This instantly became one of my favorite books, and I'm a well-read individual. Basically, I highly recommend that you read it. ;)
