The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian (1995, Paperback)

This is a book that I highly recommend to all who have children. Use in conjunction with the study guide. All of our children need to be covered in prayer especially in today's society where our children are exposed to way too much too fast.

This book has excellant prayers for parents during the hard teenage years. I just look up the specific problem we are having and then pray that Chapter. It has been an invaluable tool.

I am not done with this book yet but do like it so far. The book helps you as a parent realize the importance of praying for your kids and how that affects them.

The book, Power of a Praying Parent, is a excellent book to have as a parent. The world today is getting worse as time goes on and as a parent, we need assurance that our kids will endure. This book is one of the helps that does that. I purchase the book and loved it, then decide to purchase this book for a friend. It not helps us in our faith walk but it also strenghten us to strengthen our kids.

It is well written and easy to follow. The chapters are short, but full of inspiring information. It doesn't matter if you children are 1 or 51 this book will be an encouragement. Be sure to get the study guide to use along with the book. The ladies from our MOMS group are using this book as our first study this year.

I love this book and use it and two others on a regular basis during my daily devotions. My prayer life has grown greatly. The prayers are scriptural, specific and detailed. They are written with words I would want to pray, but have difficulty thinking of on my own. This book has been such a great help to me that I give it to others as a gift.

I LOVE this book. I borrowed one from a friend because of some problems we were having with a child, and it was so enticing I had to buy one for myself. My husband is reading it now. I HIGHLY recommend the book. It helped me gain strength in being reminded how God is in control ... and to give him full control ... something we all need reminded of at times because we are human. The references to the author's situations, and the prayers in the book gave me peace and helped ME deal with the situations differently and see things in their true light, in GOD'S light. There are also other books from this author, Power of a Praying Woman, ...Praying Wife, ...Praying Husband, ...Praying Teen, etc. They have to all be good if half as good this this one.

This is an awesome book. I had it already and purchased it as a gift for my sister-n-law. I love this book. The prayers as awesome and it's wonderful to have the words to pray for your children each and every day. The chapters are short, so you are able to read them first thing in the morning and then you child is protected all day. I would highly recommend this book and many others by Stormie !!!

This is a great book for parents. This guide you how to pray for your children.I have given this book to friends for gifts. I have read it twice already. I am starting my third time.

I haven't had a chance the read the whole thing but I checked it out at the library and listen to a great deal of it on tape. This is very good stuff. I liked that the author includes bible verses and prayers at the end of each chapter. I like it so far. Very helpful in the spiritual sense.

This book was requested by the teacher of our young adult mothers class at our church. I purchased the book and donated it to them.

EVERY parent should be praying for their child. As parents sometimes our emotions and feelings for our children get in the way and we don't know how to pray them through a trial or situation. This book is so easy to read and Stormie has included at the end of every chapter ( which is only a few pages long ) a written prayer that all you have to do is pray out loud for your child and include their name. I have been blessed by this book and my children have benefited from me going before the Lord on their behalf. I am learning what to pray for and how to pray for them so I do not have to reference the book as often now. A must for every parent. I now sometimes give this book to new parents, especially single moms who need the extra help .

Mrs. OMartin reminds us that our true calling and the only power we have as parents is the power of God in our lives and his desire to answer our prayers for our children. This book gives us a detailed layout of what and how to pray effectively for our children in an understanding and encouraging way. I highly recommend this book for any parents or those in the lives of someone as a parent figure!

I have my own copy of this book and I like it so much I decided to buy it for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. She prays for her kids and grandkids every day but says she doesn't know what else to say and thinks God gets tired of her repeating the same thing. I know this will be a springboard for more and more prayer and you can't go wrong spending time in prayer! I have a little card I carry around with the topics of each chapter written down so I have a starting point for my prayer that day and then allow God to take my mind from there since He knows what we need even better than we do! Maybe I'll make one of those for her too!

I have the book and my sister in law is going through a rough time with her daughter and this book was an inspration to me. I felt that it could help her

Awesome book ... I read it daily and use the prayers at the end of the chapter to read aloud and continue in my faith walk for my child. A must-have for any parent of any age...

I have read one of Stormie's other books, "The POwer of a Praying Wife" and love that one. I also received that one off of ebay. Stormie has a true gift of speaking to our heart and the areas we feel the most distress or concern, and love as well. Sometimes its hard to put into prayer the right words, and her guidelines for each area of prayer is soo helpful, and it just flows from the book to your lips.

I love all the books that I have read by Stormie Omartian. At times when I am at a loss, I have found valuable direction in the thoughtfulness of her message. I highly recommend this book.

This is a helpful guide for praying for your children. It uses scriptures to back up reasons for prayer and how it should be done. I thought it would be nice to own for references. It brought to light things I would have never thought to pray about. I enjoyed reading it.
