For the wattage, this amp is a straight BARGAIN. But keep in mind, this amp is NOT CEA-2006 compliant. Anyway, had a lot of trouble trying to install this amp. The issue was wiring the speakers up. I had 2 12" DVC 4ohm subs which wire down to a 1ohm load. When I had the subs wired up to the box, and I had my final wire to go to the amp, I saw that this "monoblock" amp had 2 speaker outputs. The manual offered virtually no help for my wiring configuration (2 4ohm dvc subs).
I did get sound by trying to mimic the poor directions in the manual, but it was no 1200 watts RMS. I also tried "bridging" the monoblock, which yes, I know, makes no sense. Same result... sound, but no 1200 watts RMS.
I will not question whether this truly puts out 1200 watts RMS, but rather blame this on wiring issues, and question the integrity of the manual writer.
MY RECOMMENDATION -- download and read the manual BEFORE you buy the amp. If you aren't confused, OR will have it PROFESSIONALLY installed, then buy the amp. It's a great deal for the price. I would even recommend downloading the manual and showing it to your professional installer FIRST, just to make sure he/she can make sense of it.
