I purchases this book as it was a recommendation in one of those "if you like this you might like" suggestions that pop up after searching for a book through an on-line book store. I anticipated a book regarding a group of women and how their lives intertwine, perhaps with a bit of mystery or secrecy. While it wasn't a bad book, it was very much akin to reading the life story of your neighbors, fellow church members or small town folk. It pegged the "nosy" style of many small towns and was very immersed in the importance of prayer and Bible study. While I'm Christian and by far not against Christian reading material and not one to look for racy sex fantasy filled novels, there was no mention in the book's cover nor in any reviews I read that it was a very G-PG type of book. No real mystery or intrigue. A plain Jane book, this is perfect for those times you're waiting and have to stop and start frequently. It's easy to read, not difficult to keep up with the characters and does offer some positive, if not a bit passive, thoughts on approaching unpleasant situations. Overall, the book did make me feel a bit sad and I feel it ended with very little closure. I'd strongly recommend buying it a bargain book, not new at full price.
