Portraits [Box] by Emmylou Harris (CD, Oct-1996, 3 Discs, Warner Archives)

I haven't been able to find one of my favorite old Emmylou cds and there were several others I just hadn't ever gotten yet. I have several of her newer ones, but I missed her older songs. This was a great way to get most of them without buying each and every cd. This woman sings like an angel and is superb at choosing songs, as well writing her own. IF there were anyone better than Emmylou Harris, I would sure like to know of it.

love being able to get Almost all of Emmylou Harris' greatest recordings in one box set as oppose to having to buy many individual CDs. Emmylou Harris has a crisp, natural singing voice that rings out with amazing clairity and the materail that she sings is very moving. If there were one thing I would change it would be that I would have included the song Even Cowgirls Get The Blues.

Great snapshot of a musician's musician in every way. A must have for anyone who loves good American music from an artist with the best ear for talent and great music alive. Plenty of those duets on this that she is always a master of, some mainstream and some that should have been. All the hits you are looking for with some that you will soon love if you are not familiar with.
