Pontoon by Garrison Keillor (2007, Unabridged, Compact Disc)

Garrison at his best. Funny, thought provoking, and a good time all around. Anyone interested in a good story and a good time should buy.

I loved this book. Garrison Keillor has such a soothing voice and the book is very much like his stories he tells on public radio about Lake Woebegone. It was very entertaining and my mind did not wander at all when I listened to this book.

This is the first Garrison Keillor book we've listened to. I've seen his tv show, and found it mildly humorous, so I didn't have high expectations. It turned out a better book than we expected, although the "plot" was reasonably predictable. A lot of great humor and easy to visualize scenes. Keillor does a great job of creating word pictures of the events in the book. There are a couple of "R" rated sections or at least "PG13" but they only add humor. I recommend it.
