Polyester (DVD, 2004)

I saw the movie, Polyester, when it came out. I remember thinking the movie was SO cool because it engaged the audience by handing out the "odorama" scratch and sniff cards. Pretty cutting edge stuff back in the day!! Anyway, enough nostalga. I saw this DVD on Ebay and decided I better bid on it. I was extremely pleased when I won the bid and received my DVD quickly. The DVD is in great shape and includes the "odorama" scratch and sniff card that I remembered. We have watched and smelled along with this DVD several times and I am sure we will continue to enjoy the audience participation required to experience the full effect of this great camp classic.

If you like Divine films then you will like this one. It has Oder-Rama It is pretty funny. This film was about a porn theater owners wife and her crazy kids. Divine was the mother and she played the part well. the children were psychos and the husband was cheating on her with his secretary. Her mother was also out to get her and try to get all of her money by setting up this stupid scam.

This movie is so cheesy, you just gotta love it. I remember seeing it in the Theater back in the 70s with the original Odorama card. The card that comes with the DVD release is nowhere near the same. Everything smells like plastic.

Another one of John Waters classics. Think I may have liked female troubles a little better, it was more raunchy. But this one defintely had me rolling. Loved the odorama scratch & sniff card. Devine is amazing, as is Edith Massey. Super hot Tab Hunter made a great guest star as well. I bought it online, because Netflix doesn't have it in stock and most movie stores don't either.

I loved the casting. Fishpaw's daughter was great!! It was a laugh a minute. I will watch again just to pick up the subtle nuances that I missed the first time.

I like John Waters, this is one of my favorite movies, and Divine is God. I really can't think of a reason to dislike it. I think the Baltimore Foot Stomper is a riot.

Excellent movie, I am a total John Waters fan and this is one of his earlier best. I was introduced to Jon's movies through some old friends of mine and still to this day thank them for it. Francine Fishpaw is wonderful Divine is one of the best actors ever. If you do not have an open sence of humor forget it don't bother, but if you love funny things, enjoy what some seem to call b rate movies then this is one for you. You will easily become a john waters fan and probably have already seen some of his others and loved them and just don't relize it yet. Polyster with its odorrama card is the best, my kids love it i just wish i had more of the cards to pass around when several of us are watching it together.

This is the dumbest movie I have ever seen. Terrible acting, terrible directing, poor quality video, stupid plot if any at all, etc. I can't believe I paid for it. I wish I could get a full refund. This will be one I turn around and sell right back to someone else on eBay. Sorry, but this is my honest opinion.
