Polaroid PDV-0700 7 in. Portable DVD Player

One of the best pictures and sound of any 7 inch player I've seen. Very nice. The battery fits perfectly to the bottom so it is nice and even. The external jacks are wonderful, I use on my TV all the time.

I bought 2 of these for a long plane trip for my kids. They are great but I just wish the battery held a longer charge. It lasts for about 3 hours.

I was scouring all over eBay for a cheap, used, but dependable portable DVD player and the PDV-0700 filled the bill. I got it for around $80 including shipping. The picture is not exactly videophile quality, but then this unit is for convenience anyway, and it's perfect for tossing in your luggage to take to a hotel, on a train ride, or on an airplane. You'll get at least one movie's or several TV show episodes' worth of battery time before you need to recharge. The volume is quite satisfactory, both speakers and headphone jack, and if you need a boost you can get a headphone splitter/preamp from Radio Shack, etc. I also like the Dolby Digital output if you want to connect this to a home theatre setup. Overall highly recommended for travelling.

I just got the DVD PLayer, but i have tried it out. It is a very good player, light and what amazes me the most is the sharp and clear picture. I played three dvds including one that is burned and all three had excellent picture. I have read some reviews that sad that the sounds was bad, but i think that the sounds is OK.

It is a nice solid player. Mine did not come with the remote, so my only gripe with it is that it does not have a pause button ON THE UNIT. When I am interrupted in watching, I have to go back a chapter to get the part I missed. On a positive note, the player is pretty resilient: two days after getting the DVD player, my little poodle "marked his territory" and it didn't work for several weeks. However after fully drying out, it now works beautifully.

I purchased this item for travel. While on my vacation, my mind cleared and the idea came to me to try connecting it to a digital converter box. I now have not only a great little device for traveling (it packs great!), but I can connect it to a digital converter box while in my office, and I have a television as well. The cost of this item (less than $100) plus the cost of a digital converter box ($5, using a $40 coupon) resulting in a portable digital tv calculates to a great deal!

While the one I purchased was older scuffed and showed plenty of wear. This seems to be a durable little unit that is well made. Functioned well and has an out put that also doubles as an input to make this a small LCD monitor.
I woould probably buy another of the brand/model

The PDV-0700 is a little older but it had solid reviews and seems to be a real dependable and sturdy unit. I used one at work and that one worked great. Real happy with this one, great picture, audio, and battery life pushes 4 hours on a full charge.

It was a Christmas present for my 8 year old niece and she was so excited to receive it. The item was as described and delivered in great condition. Communication with the seller was excellant!!! I'm so pleased with the purchase and so is my niece!!!!

The DVD is great it shows a great picture it was sent to me in good condition, with a carring case for the DVD Player. So I must say I am very pleased with this item.

I bought this dvd player for my little boy and it arrived as described and I have not had any problems with it.

The unit is a wonderful device for taking on trips where room is an issue.
I wouldn't say the device is designed for viewing further away then you lap tray on an Aircraft but it is easily stowed in a carry on bag.

The drawback to it is after 30 minutes of viewing the heat from the battery starts getting annoying should you have it setting on your lap, otherwise I would consider it a benefit, especially where children are involved.

It is ok . I have another one exactly like this one. But, now I have an extra battery and cord. I have been using mine for years. I think the one I purchased on ebay had been refurbished. I don't care. It is a work horse, i fall asleep watching it in bed, take it with me on flights, and in the car.

This is my second portable DVD player with Polariod. Its is light weight, portable, and a reliable make. I love the fact that it is easy to change to region free viewing with this model... that is a must for me. Great picture quality and sound. If you want to buy a general good all round portable DVD system you cant go wrong with this model.

I purchased one of these a couple of years ago at Sam's ~ primarily because I am not a particularly good air traveler, so I wanted a distraction. While it doesn't have a swivel screen, my needs didn't call for one, but it did have an adapter for 2 sets of headphones in case hubby wants to watch the movie, too! I have had absolutely no problems with this and it's small enough to fit in a carry on. It did come with it's own padded case which is great for car travel, but I usually leave the case home for air travel. I'm now searching for noise-canceling headphones as the jet engine "hum" makes it sometimes hard to hear the movie.
I would rate this between good and excellent.

DVD was received as described!! Received in great working condition and came with power cords. My kids love it!!

I made a bad purchase! No instruction manual. If you move the player it turns off or starts over. I bought it for a 4 year old. I doesn't hold a charge so it always has to be plugged in to the wall or addaptor in the car. I'm a flight attendant so I wanted it for the plane. Not going to happen. It's only good if I want to see something on TV and I can send him to his room to watch a movie. I just have to keep reminding his not to touch it or he will have to start over!!!!!

because it look good, and i'have nothing to do in that time so i wanted to give it to a freand as a present so that he could have a nice present that he wanteded, so i thout what can I gifh him? and then I thouth I sould gaet him a dvd portable and it was a very nice gifh for him.

The Polaroid PDV-0700 7 in. Portable DVD Players are I believe, no longer produced. People like myself continue to seek out these players because they are very good quality players. There continue to be many PDV-0700 players come up for sale both in working and non working condition. Care should be used when purchasing a used player for parts. I have found there are at least two major designs in these players and both are designated as PDV-0700 models. The parts or components, for the most part do not interchange. One design is overall thicker in the main case or body of the player than the other model. In regard to the thinner PDV-0700, the laser eye of the disc player moves from the center and extends up to the upper left as you look at the opened disc cover. The laser eye of the thicker PDV-0700 moves from the center directly out to the right as you view it with the disc cover opened. All of the internal electronic components are entirely different between the two designs. The hinge supports for the screen are longer on the thick case design. The screens MAY interchange but there is an extra black (presumedly a ground) wire on the screen for the thin case PDV-0700. The batteries no seem to interchange. It does take a fairly skilled individual to disassemble and repair the players, but with the correct parts it can be achieved. Once rebuilt the players continue to be quite servicable. One common problem of the PDV-0700 is a binding up condition in the hinge which causes the hinge support or housing to break. A little preventative maintenance by applying some light weight 3 in 1 oil or graphite to both hinges should prevent this problem from occuring. The prices for used working and used non working PDV-0700 players ranges widely but seems to remain at what one would consider to be the upper end considering the price of new model players. A person can only conclude the price people are willing to pay for the PDV-0700 can ony attest to it's quality and performance. One should take care not to put too much money in a player you are not confident can be returned to service. Once again, the repair or rebuilding of the player is not for the amatuer. There are a score of screws of different lengths and parts that must be assembled in the correct sequence. All this being said, use your judgement on price, condition, and design (if you are looking to rebuild). I do believe the Polaroid PDV-0700 Portable DVD Player is a good quality player. I thought enough of mine to purchase a parts unit to repair mine when the hinge broke and do not regret the decision to repair rather than discard. I am sure the video quality is better on newer models. My PDV-0700 was built in 2005.

The dvd was dirty and the volume is not working , and came with not the rigth car charger this product was not good bougth at all.

product ok. the volumn is not real loud. needed to be stronger. case kind of scratched. other than that great item..

Very nice DVD player with excellent resolution, good sound and it just does it's job without a glitch! When I up grade I would add a pivoting screen and more playable DVD formats. But this one suites me fine for now and I am very happy with the purchase.
