Great beginner's camera

The camera has a sturdy design that has taken some moderate abuse. The camera does not have a zoom feature, but does have a display to see the picture before saving it. This camera is a battery hog, so you will definately want to get the rechargeable batteries or you'll go bankrupt. the camera will accept several different size memory cards and will format the card prior to use. The picture quality is better than most other cameras with the same megapixels on the market. Overall, get this camera to practice taking pictures and then give it your teens for their use and abuse.

accidentally sent me the wrong camera ,and within 2 days had the right one on my doorstep.wish more people were this propt! hope to do business again! {will have the other camera on the way back when i get a day off work}---tomswasted

The Polaroid PDC 640 was a great deal for the consumer. But it also had some problems. As owner of several of this model, they all seem to become defective and not to hold up. Problems with the down loading of pictures to computer, unavailability of new software to down load to newer computers and internal problems with the viewer. This product is currently discontinued and it is only several years old. Polaroid has no solutions as to repair or replacement of this item. So if it's broke, it is junk. It is surprising that Polaroid would just sign off on a very good product leaving the consumer without answers.

I bought the Polaroid because I didn't have a digital camera and the price was just right. The only thing con about it is that it is big and bulky but it gets the job done.

Great Model STURDY, Great for older computer users.Review created: 11/10/06

I used this camera for 10 years and just sold my still-working great camera here at ebay this week. I only replaced it to take better close up photos for ebay. It is good sturdy camera... I did use it for travel and ebay. [It will take good close ups from about 6 inches away, with a steady hand.] It uses regular AA batteries, and is very easy to use. Software doesn't work with XP, but you can download the twain drivers at poloroid, and can use it with other programs such as adobe photoshop. Ideal for older computer users, and because its Poloroid, they have a great name in cameras, and offer full support from poloroid.com. Has a serial port connection, and works with battery or power adapter plugged-in, which really worked out great for ebay selling. Even though this is an older model, it has lots of life in it. I highly recommend it. Max Rainet
