Pokemon Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition (Game Boy)

The game is a good old one. This is a special version, because you get a Pikachu as your starter pokemon! It is also a good way to retrieve all of the starter pokemon. In this game you are able to get Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu! If you want to have all 3 starters on another version, this is an easy way to get them. You must progress a little bit in the game, though. If you like collecting pokemon stuff, this is a MUST HAVE.

This is my favorite of the Game Boy pokemon games thus far, and yes, I have played them all.

Heres what I love and what makes it all worthwhile - Pikachu follows you throughout the game! Instead of a traditional starter pokemon, your stuck with a pikachu that you need to keep happy. Its very unique to the pokemon game series, which means this is definitly one to play.

The only thing I disliked about the game was the lack of Raichu :(

Yellow version is definitly a fun one. There are hours of activity and loads of pokemon to catch. Definitly worth the time.

Like most pokemon games, Yellow version is different everytime you play it. I enjoied it very much and I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun, exciting game to play!

This game was to be like the show, where you get Pikachu as your starting Pokemon! It is much different because he follows your character around and performs other useful abilities! *Pika! Pika!*

Pokemon Yellow came out about the time that all the hype of the Pokemon series was slowly dying out, but didn't show signs of it.

Pros: Pikachu is starter Pokemon,ALL of the rest of the 150 back then were catchable, New animations for them in battle
Cons: A poor way to milk the Pokemon title for more money, same storyline, same everything as Red and Blue

Not much was introduced in this title other than Pikachu being your starting pokemon and you had to made him happy by giving him attention and using him in battle. The ability to have the three starter Pokemon in your party at an early stage in the game is also a plus, made it feel more like the anime series.

The ability to transfer Pokemon from Blue and Red to Yellow was sorta cheating in a scene, but whatever. Nothing too drastic changed from the previous titles, but I'd still play this from time to time if I'm on the road.

I really love this game. I love the fact that Pikachu follows you around and its one of my favorite Pokemon games. If you are a fan of Pokemon you will love this game. Its a little outdated, but it is still fun to play.

This is a great Pokemon game-You get to face 8 gym trainers and get to compete in the Pokemon League-Also, you get(as always) your own Pokemon to start out with and your Pokegear. You will also get the chance to catch all the original 150 Pokemon to train and battle with. Beware of Team Rocket though-You will definitely enjoy all the towns/cities, the shops, people to meet, and most of all, all the Pokemon you'll meet and rivals for life.
I personally believe this would be great for someone who can read and is about ages 8+. It can also play on the original Gameboy, The Gameboy color, Advance, Advance SP, and more.

This was the 'easiest' of the original titles because you started with the main Pokemon character in the cartoon, Pikachu.

In the blue and red versions of the game, you can pick a pikachu up quite easily, but they're never as strong as in the yellow version and it's fun watching him follow you aroung (when he's healthy enough).

a good game for kids to pick up and play. it's not too complicated and it will keep you entertained. the range of levels and number of pokemon is really good!

Every child loved or loves Pokemon, the same is true for mine. This game is a classic, yet still really good.

I had this game when I was a little tyke, and it's great being able to play it again. Great game, family friendly, I highly recommend it.

I bought the Pokemon Yellow Version gameboy game approximately three weeks ago. The reason I bought the game is because my son is very into his gameboy right now and even more into Pokemon. I am trying to get him all of the versions of the Pokemon games (blue, red, yellow, gold, silver) and ebay is the best place to find them at the best prices. The game did not come with a box or instruction manual, however it is in great working condition and my son has been playing it ever since he received it. I would suggest for anyone who is looking to by Pokemon games, accessories, toys, etc. to definitly shop ebay as I have found several Pokemon items that are otherwise unusually hard to find in stores.

(MEW GLITCH)
first get an abra that knows teleport
then go to nugget bridge and defeat all the trainers
then beat all the trainers till the slowpoke guy on the way to bill's house
then go back to nugget bridge
go west of the water west of the bridge 1 step
(SAVE)
then go down 1 step and pause quickly
have abra teleport back to the town.
go up and WALK 2 SPACES FROM THE slowpoke guy!
(you wont be able to talk to anyone or pause during that time)
then teleport back to the pokecenter and walk up nugget bridge.
the start menu will pop up
exit the start menu.
then mew appears!!!!!
(level 7)
(a common for this is a lvl 7 nidoqueen and chansey)

(There are also other pokemon you can get from this glitch)

My daughter wanted this game for Christmas. I couldn't find it at any store. Found it on Ebay for a great price and bought it. I was very pleased with the way Ebay does its business and plan to purchase more items when needed.

everything we received worked as expected of coures not the best but it is very good for the prise wepaid for it even a little bit better

I purchased this game boy product for my grandson. He is a big fan of Pokemon and I felt the cost was reasonable and affordable for my budget. It is always nice to give your grandchildren gifts for no reason.

Pokemon Yellow for the GBC is a classic title. Slightly improved graphics make gameplay better. The ability to collect all of the starter pokemon in one game is a cool feature. My only complaint is that there are not any pokemon that are exclusive to this version.
