Pokemon pinball (game boy color)
Review created: 05/10/08

I brought my gameboy when I did childcare for my 6 year old nephew. I had the pokemon pinball cartridge in the gameboy and when my nephew played with it he just fell in love with it. That is why I bought it for him. It has always been one of my favorite games and now it is one of his. The game is very entertaining for a wide range of ages.

We love this game so much that I had to buy 2 copies for the grandkids. They couldn't decide who should play first. Both are 4yrs old and boys and each one wanted the game first so, I purchased 2 copies so they both can play together. I also, being an over 50 gramma, like to play as well. I recommend it for the younger generation who missed out on the pinball games at the arcade. not like them but a fair imitation.

 Pokemon Pinball Great Investment
Review created: 08/08/07

I love the item because my brothers loved it. They play with it for hours and they, overall amuse themselves very much with this game. It was a great investment for kids that like video games plus its a small item, so its easier to carry around anywhere.I highly recommend this game.

 Pokemon for the Pre-Literate Child!
Review created: 10/06/06
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

Recently my nephew and I purchased the latest new Pokemon titles for GBA and Nintendo DS. My kindergarten-age niece has also begun to enjoy her hand-me-down Game Boy Advance, and she wanted a Pokemon game too.

The problem is that most Pokemon games require a fair amount of literacy and strategic knowledge. They're more appropriate to children from ages 8-11 (and still enjoyable to aunties age 46!) So what to do?

Our local game-shop owner recommended Pokemon Pinball. This game requires minimal explanation for the little ones, and it has the fun "tumbling" effect built into the cartridge. (My niece, who enjoys games like "Wario Ware Twisted" and "Kirby Twist and Tumble", likes games with a kinetic component.)

My niece really loves this game. She plays it for hours. It's a wonderful introduction to Pokemon for pre-literate children. The kinetic component is not as central as in the other games that I mentioned, but it adds more fun to the already-enticing Pokemon mystique.

I'm recommending this highly as a first Pokemon game for young children. It's a nice thing to buy for the little ones, when the older siblings are purchasing the more complex GameBoy and GameCube games.

Note: However, as a pinball- or kinetic-genre game, it will be disappointing for older Mario/Wario fans.

 Fun Pokemon Style Pinball Game
Review created: 09/18/06

This is a fun Pokemon style Pinball game. This game adds a whole new dimension to pinball with you catching Pokemon. A whole different way to catch them all and a whole lot harder than in the adventure mode, as it relies on more luck (although not all on luck) than the adventure games to get all the Pokemon. There are two different pinball setups, Blue and Red, each with its own set of Pokemon possible to catch and different bonus rounds. Also, the game has a rumble pack incorporated to add a more to the game.

 Follow the bouncing Pokeball

Pros:
Good graphics, concept put to good use, optional rumble feature

Cons:
Extremely easy or difficult tables, no in-between; no Game Boy music is good

To a pinball purist, the mere idea of video game pinball is sheer blasphemy. As an arcade rat, I can vouch for this myself. While playing a stand-up video game machine is usually comparable to playing on a home system, holding a control pad is not at all like holding onto the sides of a table. To a pinball player, that is necessary. Thus, as a pinball fan, I was a bit hesitant to play Pokemon Pinball when I first encountered it. However, if you can get over the fact that video game pinball is somewhat oxymoronic (if you wanted pinball, why not go to a table?), Pokemon Pinball is rather fun....

Pros:
Ok translation to pinball, some good replay value

Cons:
it's too cute and the sound can and will give you a headache

If you haven t heard about any of the Pokemon craze, then I know this doctor who might be able to help you, he works miracles you know. No, just kidding. But I don t think there is anybody who hasn t heard of the craze. Pokemon has had a game for at least four of the different genres; RPG, Puzzle, Fighting, and Pinball. The Pokemon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, and Crystal are the RPG s, Pokemon Puzzle League brings Pokemon to the Tetris world, Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Stadium 2, and Super Smash Brothers star Pokemon in all their fighting glory. And now there s the Pinball genre, in...

Pros:
Incredibly addictive, surprisingly fun

Cons:
Only two tables, terrible sound

I didn't mean to get sucked into the Pokemon craze of a couple years ago, I really didn't. Every ounce of my being said !MARKETING! and !FAD!, but somehow, Pokemon appealed to the little man in my head. You know the little man I'm talking about, right? Mr. Addictive Personality? Yep, that's me, I get addicted to things. Luckily, they're (mostly) harmless things--sports cards, comic books, video games, and my current longest-running addiction, CDs. For a short time, I am a teensy bit ashamed to admit, Pokemon was part of that list. The thing is, when the whole craze started, Pokemon had some...

Having Fun Trying to Catch 'em All!
Review created: 11/26/00
by: sunderwood -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Entertaining for the whole family

Cons:
Would like additional instructions/tips

I purchased this game right before Christmas as I was lucky enough to find a GameBoy to give to my son (then almost 5) for Christmas. I figured this game would be simple enough for him, yet entertaining. I certainly was right; however what I didn't realize is that the game would be entertaining and amusing for both us. He didn't quite get the idea of the game, so Mom came to the rescue and helped him out. It ended up that I did the playing, with him looking over my shoulder anxiously awaiting my every move. And to be honest with you, I was hooked! I always enjoyed pinball and the challenge of.

Haven't you ever wanted to bash Pikachu?
Review created: 12/19/01
by: kalizam -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Bright colors, lots to do, high replay value

Cons:
not for play of long periods of time

Actual pinball machines are becoming things of the past. Every year, the ones that break down are having fewer replacements. However, with this breakdown of real pinball tables has come a surge of pinball-simulation games. Pokemon Pinball is one of the better ones. OBJECTIVES --- There isn't a story in the game. However, you do have some pretty steep obstacles to overcome. The player must try to collect 151 different types of Pokemon on 2 different pinball tables. Although many of these Pokemon are quite simple to catch, others can get extraordinarily hard. CONTROLS --- The creators of the...
