Pocahontas 2: Journey to a New World DVD
Review created: 02/05/09

This is the continuance of Pocahontas journey to defend the Indians from King James of England. She travels to England to meet with the King and has to learn the proper ways of England to prove herself and her tribe aren't the savages thought to be. I don't know how much is based on actual history but there was a trip made by an indian maiden, this loosely follows what it might have been like. My daughter is a fan of both Pocahontas movies but likes this one because they make her to look like a princess. A great movie for anyone who has even a small amount of knowledge about the native Indian of North America.

  ALL LIES!
Review created: 08/12/08

It's easy to see why this was not released to theaters. Except for the fact that Pocahantas DID go to England and DID meet John Smith and Kings James there, NOTHING of this movie was true. She married John Rolfe in Jamestown, (after being kidnapped) had a son BEFORE they went. And she died on the way home. John Rolfe used her to attract people to go to Jamestown to work for him with his new-tasting tobacco. So the whole thing was a farce. Not even very good music, tho the "A Day in London" wasn't bad. If you know the REAL story you truly will hate this movie.

  Pocahontas II

We love Disney and we especially love the brave indian girl Pocahontas, so we had to get the sequel. My daughter enjoys it as much as other Disney princess movies and loves to pretend to be Pocahontas! Another great Disney film!

Pocahontas II - A beautiful sequel
Review created: 05/06/08

Pocahontas II is a beautiful story that begins with the "death" of John Smith and follows Ratcliff's plot for revenge. Along the way Pocahontas meets John Rolf and travels to England and of course manages to save the day Disney Princess fashion. We enjoyed this dvd as much if not more than the original Pocahontas, although the music is not as impressive. All in all it is a great "feel good" story that lovers of the original should enjoy and a fun dvd that can be enjoyed on it's own.

The movie was cute. I bought it because I watched the first Pocahontas movie and I loved it. This one is cute, but not as good as the first.

  I enjoyed this movie....

I enjoyed Pocahontas 2: Journey to A New World. Although it got a lot of bad reviews, I thought it was worth adding to my Disney collection. You get most of the original characters (minus Mel Gibson as John Smith), and Judy Kuhn again sings beautifully in the movie (although the songs in part one are much better). I think a lot of people are disappointed with the ending, which historically is the path that Pocahontas does choose....I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it. Needless to say, it doesn't quite measure up to the original Pocahontas but I thought it was interesting to find out what happens to Pocahontas and John Smith. Younger children will absolutely love part 2 because the story involves Meeko, Flit and Percy quite a bit, and they are pretty quirky! I think my 3 year old probaby liked this movie better than the original for that reason. I liked this movie, but I LOVED the original!

  Disappointing

My girls absolutely adore Pocahontas. But this version is nothing compared to the Original. I doubt my daughters will want to watch this one again. Of course this is just a matter of opinion, but for us, it didn't work out.

  Not bad!
Review created: 08/09/06

I am a huge disney fanatic. I have like 80 disney movies and some I dont care for, BUT I can say this is not one of them. It would be hard to live up to the first one, but this does come close. It's exciting and will have you guessing on a couple of things. But worry in the end you will have all the answers! Thanks!
Kelly
