Sooooo very good...and with a true Hollywood ending!

If you've ever seen a Robert Altman film, then you know you're in for a treat when you sit down to watch The Player. Tim Robbins plays the lead, a movie executive torn between creativity and the happy rose-garden Hollywood ending.
The film is filled with biting satire, and is a true dig at Hollywood types. However, it is also engaging and hilarious at times, which makes it an entertaining picture.
Altman is known for the guest appearances in his films, and at times, it seems as though there are nothing but big-name movie stars to be found. Ah, the irony...a film about the phoniness of Hollywood, with Hollywood stars tripping over themselves to make an appearance.
Don't miss this one. Although it is not Tim Robbins' best role, he does a good job with the character. His "deer in the headlights" look at times is priceless.
