the best thing about the collection is having all the movies in one collection. Not to mention the tv and cartoon series as well. Excellent packaging mainly due to the bizarre ape head that is included. If you do not like all the frills there are other collections available for the five primary movies. Rich Geary

Cool addition to my collection. The Cornelias looks like he's thinking. Very well crafted and realistic. The Ultimate Planet of the Apes DVD collection is a must for every collector. Set includes the original and remake along with the sequels. The Battle for the Planet of the Apes is the extended version. The set also includes the tv series and the animated series. Bonus disks are also icluded in the set.

The bust of Caesar is the best part of this set. I wish it were just a tad bigger though. It's not quite life-size. The DVDs are in a book-type setup that slips into an opening in the backside of the bust behind a hidden velcroed flap.
There's no way it's worth the retail price of over $150 (when it was first released) but I got it for under $50 and it's worth that. One drawback is the tranfers they use for the cartoon series is inferior and if you are a fan of those you will want to get the later separate release of the cartoons as they are a better quality. Overall a nice set, not perfect by any means but for an Ape fan it is really cool. A lot more special features and deleted scenes, etc would have been appreciated in something that calls itself "Ultimate" but all in all is worth $50 if you can snag one that cheap. If they would've spent a little more time and effort on the small stuff (bigger bust, more features, commentaries, better transfer on cartoons, etc) this really would be the "Ultimate" collection. As it is I'd say more the "Penultimate" collection as I'm sure there will be a better one down the road (bluray, etc).

This ultimate collection not only comes cased in a fantastic life-size POTA Caesar bust, with life-like hair and Caesar's outfit, it includes every edition of the POTA series from all movies, cartoons, tv series, and many documentaries, all which are remastered. It is a fantastic edition to my POTA collection! The Ultimate Collection is also available without the bust, but the bust is well worth the extra patience in the eBay shopping process, and well worth the small extra cost!

What I love about Planet of the Apes - The Ultimate Collection is that it provides hours and hours of good entertainment. The only thing I dislike about it is that I wanted to watch more but there seems to be no real ending to the tv series. I love Cornelius. He is such a character!

I should be giving this set an excellent rating. After all it has all the movies in excellent transfers, the entire tv series, and the entire animated series, even though the quality of some of the episodes gives a lot to be desired (no correction given to those). And as a bonus: Cesar's ape head bust. Still, a great collection for Apes fans.
So why not excellent? Fox decided to again tripple dip, and release only in the incomplete blu ray edition (no tv or animated series) the original cut of Conquest for The Planet of the Apes. That version should have been included in the Apehead version. They already had it. But why not, when they could tripple dip. You wonder why do I say tripple dip. Don't be surprised if another edition comes along with another version of another one of the films (hint, hint). Ah, the greed of this companies may lead them to the same fate of the music industry, or so we hope.

Incredible collection and it has everything! The packaging and bust of Caesar was much larger than I expected, but that's totally fine. I've wanted to buy this for the last 2 years, and I'm glad I finally did.

If you like the planet of the apes you’ll love this set of one of the greatest sci-fi stories told.
