Planet of the Apes: The Evolution Box Set (DVD, 2000, Limited Edition Box Set)

Arrived in perfect condition. I used this as a Father's Day gift for my husband and it arrived in plenty of time. I highly recommend this seller and would definitely buy from them again.

My 15 year old daughter is in to "vintage" films. Her and her friends are working their way through the Hitchcock library and somehow, discovered the original Planet of the Apes. When they found out their were 5 films total, they just had to have the collection. They absolutely love them and have viewed them several times. Great collection from a great seller.

Just how fast I received it. It was in excellent condition.The price was right!!Trying to replace ALL movies I had on VHS.

this is a classic series with outstanding production quality for it's period. political and relevant subject presented in a clever manner. serious, exciting and even humorous.i enjoy watching with the family during special "Ape Week" movie nights.

The first Planet of the Apes is a great movie. But when you can watch ALL of them, it's even better. You get to watch the story from begining to end.

After you finish watching all the movies you get to see what happened behind the scenes with Behind The Planet of the Apes. It's really cool to get to go back and see how they put this together. I personally always love watching how they put the make-up together on sci-fi movies. A bonus to an already good box set.

I like this DvD because it is the complete series of movies in one.

If you like the Planet of the Apes movies from the late '60s and early '70s, then this six-disc collection is the most cost-effective way to get your Apes fix. When you figure shipping into the equation, it'll cost you about half what you'd pay for the movies individually, maybe even less. The real gem of the collection is "Behind the Planet of the Apes", a 1998 documentary made for the AMC channel to mark the 30th anniversary of the first film's release and to chronicle the making of the Apes movies. Thankfully, it was made shortly before Roddy MacDowall passed away, so his reminiscences are thus included. The inclusion of this disc makes up for the lack of substantive bonus features in the rest of the collection. Each disc includes which a small collection of behind-the-scenes and publicity stills for that particular film and the trailers for all five films. Not much of a value add there.

Of the films themselves, there's not much to say. You either like them or you don't. And if you're considering acquiring this six-disc collection, chances are you like them quite well. The first film, Planet of the Apes, is by far the strongest. The second, Beneath the Planet of the Apes, is by far the weirdest. From there, it descends into low-budget campiness. The three later films, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, and Battle for the Planet of the Apes, each have their moments, but none can hold a candle to the original. And don't get me started about Tim Burton's 2002 remake.

The bottom line: If you're into the old Planet of the Apes movies and you want the entire saga, this box set will give you the best bang for your buck, and the documentary disc is the icing on the cake. Otherwise, it may be a bit of overkill and you'd be better off getting just the discs you want.

The Planet of the Apes has always been a favorite. The rest of the set was ok as well. Watching the whole set one after the other and in the correct order, was a first for me and was enjoyable.

I wanted the complete set...not to have to buy partial sets....and i had just received a portable dvd player as a gift....this complete dvd set was something i have always wanted....i didn't even know that the complete set existed until i looked on ebay.....the product was absolutely perfect.

My order arrived quickly. The DVDs were in the condition described. I don't know why ebay demands at least 100 characters for a review. My order arrived on time.

It's all here in one box. All five Planet Of The Apes movies. I've been a fan of this series since I was a kid. If you are a Planet Of The Apes fan, this is a definite must for your sci-fi collection.

These movies are all-time classics! I grew up loving these films. And now we can have all five films in a neat little package, plus a Documentary DVD which is equally as wonderful. And at the incredibly low prices the folks at eBay are offering, how can anyone resist?

This is probably the best item I've ever purchased on Ebay. It was exactly as described in the auction, in perfect condition. The seller was easy to deal with and I get the feeling he aimed to please. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The disks were clean, scratch free and like new. The same with the boxes. They were genuine copies and not someone's homemade ones. Overall, this was a wonderful Ebay experience.

It is a film that was made long ago, but it does not forget. It did not know that there were several sections of her. It is touching and incredible all the plot. Excellent film.
