See above. There simply is no comparison with the original. Departed from the book quite a bit, but still a great movie. Enjoy! I did.

If you've seen this, you know what I'm talking about. Its a must for any library and enjoyable to watch again and again.

If you have not seen this movie, you must... you'll love it! Its intelligent and challenges your perception of things. Just imagine if....

My husband was very excited to get this movie, huge Planet of the Apes fan, and this is the original version. Nice to have on DVD to add to your collection.

I purchased the original Planet of The Apes with Charelton Heston who plays the lead character called Taylor.The movie goes from their flight in space to emergency landing on a planet that is ruled by Apes. There were four astronauts in the begining but they find the female of the group had died in the sleep chamber.They abandon the ship and make for civilization, Taylor and two other male astonauts.They are caught up in the hunt of the humans like animals that are hunted for sport by the Gorillas.One of them is shot and killed and then the other two are captured and seperated from each other. Taylor as the movie goes on learns of what happened to the other astronaut but also he is befriened by a Chimpanzee couple and also given a girlfriend named Nova.It has a really great ending to the movie which I do not wish to give away.Some of the best acting that I have enjoyed seeing.I decided that since it was part of a collection that I was hoping to have on DVD that I would go to e-bay.I did find this movie for sell on e-bay. I always check the persons feedback since it will tell you how many feebacks have been left to the person adn how many disatisfied people have left messages.I try never to buy from any one who has less than 94% positive feedback and has not had a large numer of negative feedbacks left in the last 6 months.I paid for my item through the place they recommened that payment be made through, and my item was here very quickly. I have enjoyed the movie and the service from the person I bought the Dvd from.
