A young amish girl gives birth and is accused of killing her baby. Another good book by Picoult. Easy to read, captivating, and makes you question.

bought this book after reading The Tenth Circle and Vanishing Acts. This book was wondertful just like the others but in a different way. Her stories all have a different feel to them as to appeal to everyone but I became so engrossed that I read all night until it was finished. Then when one of her books is finished, I can't wait to go and begin another. She is such a wonderful writer, I am addicted!! I highly recommend this book as well as the others I have read.

I love all the books by Jodi Picoult. They are always full of suspense and you feel like a part of them. I recommend them to everyone.

I am an avid reader and usually read anything I can get my hands on - newspaper, magazines, my kids books, etc. I came across Jodi Picoult's book, Nineteen Minutes, about a year ago and since then I have been totally hooked on her books. She is an amazing writer that keeps you intriged right until the end. Her books have a little bit of everything: mystery, romance, a surprisingly twist or two. She also has a way of making you think about not only the victim but the alleged perpertrator too and you find yourself questioning what you feel. I am 3/4 the way through Plain Truth and, again, it is wonderfully written and very interesting. I've got my husband reading one of her books right now and he loves it. I highly recommend all of Jodi Picoult's books!

Life on an Amish farm changes forever when a new-born infant in found dead in the barn. Ultimately the baby's mother, 18-year-old Katie, is charged with murder. The book's plot centers around life on the farm between the night of the birth and the end of the trial.

Central themes are the power of community, the meaning of faith, the effects of secrets, and the nature of love.

Plain Truth was selected reading for my book club, Savage Beauties, not a novel I would have purchased or selected on my own. I found it a bit hard to get into in the beginning, but after 50 pages or so I found the characters genuine, interesting, and engaging. It's one of those books that you hate to see end! And, during the reading enjoyment, I learned quite a bit about the Amish culture--an added bonus.

I purchased this book because a friend recommended it. In addition to this, I am fascinated by the lifestyles of the Amish ("Plain") people. I am about three quarters of the way through the book and it has caused me to go to work very tired
for a number of mornings, as I am staying up way past my bedtime so I can keep reading. As you can see, I am enjoying the book and would recommend it to others.

This was a WONDERFUL book about the Amish community with an "English" person staying with them. I couldn't put this book down! Very well written with a strong plot that continues all the way to the surprise ending. 100% reccomended!

I bought the book because I love Jodi Picoult and I am trying to read all of her books. I am in college and I don't have a lot of extra cash, so this is a great way for me to get the books without paying bookstore prices.

This books author is a wonderful story teller. It really holds your attention and you never want to put it down. If you want an easy read...this is the book for you. I just LOVE her books!!!!

I feel that book discriptions are not that great. This discription said good. I would have not purchased it if I would have seen the book first. I will not buy books from e-bay any more. This was not the sellers fault.

Characters are believable and likable. I felt like I was involved with the story. The ending was a complete shock yet, looking back I understood why the ending was what it was. I particularly identified with Eleanor, the attorney; loved how she was developed and became comfortable living with the Amish family. Loved that she fell in love. Read this book. You'll be glad that you did.

I received the book in a timely fashion, and it was as described. I have purchased many items from ebay and half.com that vary from usb cords for Ipods all the way up to a 2000 Dodge Caravan in Ohio. (And I live in Florida!!) I have had several bad experiences as well. My husband and I got into coin collecting for a while, and searched Ebay for pennies to fill our books with. And along the way we were scammed by a few people who claim to have "unsearched" rolls of pennies that could potentially be worth hundreds and sold for less than a hundred dollars. Vulnerable people like myself fell prey, and should be monitored for other people like us. We actually paid $100 once for a roll of pennies that had the value of 50 cents. We took it as a lesson learned that was too costly to do again. Another purchase of a digital camera from Canada upset me, when I had to pay double shipping when I had to return a camera I bought and it was broken. The $20 shipping to me and the $15 to ship it back, cost more than the actual refund of $50 for the camera itself.
But the other purchases I made,....ie, the minivan, the books, games, videos, dolls, and other legitimate coins, make it worthwhile to come back to Ebay again. Good honest sellers keep me coming back. Others have taught me to be on my guard.

I have been purchasing books on ebay by one author (Jodi Picoult). I read one of her books and was hooked so much I wanted to read everything she wrote. So buying the books on e bay was the best way to find all of her books and get them at a better price than in a book store. I've been bidding on the titles I wanted as I am reading the last one I bought. That way the next book is on it's way to me as I am finishing reading the last one. I have two more to go and been fun. All the books I've received have been either new or next to new. Once I pass them around to friends and family to read I may resell them on ebay !!!

I bought this book for a class I'm taking in Grad school. We had to write a paper on it and because of this had to stop reading half way through. It was so difficult to stop reading this novel. I couldn't put it down!

I am in the midst of reading every Amish that has been written and upon checking numerous reviews, I found this book highly recommended and Jodi Picoult is certainly one of my favorite authors ("Nineteen Minutes", I read first). The entire story is fascinating and to say anything about disliking the book in anyway, I cannot. So yes, I loved the book and highly recommend reading it. Madonna Lowe, Brayton, IA

I bought the book because it was recommended to me by someone I met on an airplane so decided to try it. I thought it was a good story but somewhat repetitive to the point that I almost lost interest. One thing about her books, those that I have read, have great endings so that makes the book well worth finishing.

Another winner by Jodi Picoult. She makes me become a part of the plot. I want to read everything she has written.

I bought it because Jodi Picoult is a very goood author and I can't find the book in any local book stores and I wanted to read it.

This is a terrific book. My book club read it and there was not one bad word. We live near Amish communities, and I thought this was very authentic.
