In Plain Sight by C. J. Box (2006, Hardcover)

I have been looking forward to this, the newest book from C.J. Box, in his ongoing series featuring Joe Pickett, a Wyoming game warden. The author is a Wyoming native and his descriptions of places in, and the people of Wyoming, ring very true to form. I have hunted deer, antelope and elk in this state since 1973, and am thrilled by the written word pictures that the author is able to conjure up in the readers mind. The novels follow each other very well from episode to episode and yet a newcomer can pick up any one of the series and have a great stand alone story to peruse.

I purchased the book from Ebay because of my long history of getting not only the newest novels I'm looking for, but also the very best in a discounted price with all of my purchases. Thanks again to the author, C.J. Box, and to Ebay for offering such a vital service to it's users.

C.J.Box is a good story teller, however his use of language is a turn off.I have no desire to read any of his other works

I loved recieving this book, I got it for my mom for a Christmas present and she absolutely loved it. The book was exactly as was described.

CJ'S JOE PICKET SERIES CATCHES THE VERY HEART OF WYOMING AND WEAVES A TALE TO KEEP ANYONE INTERESTED. I COULDN'T PUT ANY OF THEM DOWN. IN PLAIN SIGHT IS THE LAST OF THE SERIES SO FAR AND IT DIDN'T LET ME DOWN. I ORIGINALLY STARTED BUYING THEM BECAUSE THE AUTHOR IS FROM CASPER WYOMING AND GRADUATED FROM THE SAME SCHOOL AS MY DAUGHTERS. HE WAS A BIT OLDER BUT I THINK HE HAD THE SAME ENGLISH TEACHER AND SHE WAS TOUGH BUT WONDERFUL. ONE OF MY DAUGHTERS IS ALSO A GOOD WRITER AND I'M SURE IT HAS A LOT TO DO WITH THAT TEACHER. IN ANY CASE I WAS CURIOUS AT FIRST AND THEN I WAS HOOKED. I GREW UP IN WYOMING AND MY FAMILY ALL HUNTED....NOT FOR TROPHIES BUT FOR FOOD. SOME OF THE TALES THE SMALL TOWN GAME WARDENS HAD TO TELL WOULD STAND YOUR HAIR ON END, AND CJ'S BOOKS TOOK ME BACK TO THOSE GREAT DAYS OF MY CHILDHOOD AROUND HERE. ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN THE WYOMING MIND SET CAN GET IT FROM CJ'S SERIES. HE CAUGHT THE ESSENCE OF THE PLACE. AND ANYONE WHO LOVES A GOOD MYSTERY WILL LOVE THEM!

what a story!!! pulls you inside and won't let you out. This series is one of the best mysteries I have ever read. A must read for the person that loves a mix of outdoors, murder, and love.
