Plague Ship by Clive Cussler, Jack B. Du Brul, Jack Du Brul (2008, Abridged, Compact Disc)

This was my first foray into the world of purchasing audiobooks. I am legally blind and beginning now to have trouble reading even large print books. After a friend described how much she liked "hearin"g books on tape, I thought I'd give it a try.

Who better to pick as a starter novel than Clive Cussler. I am a diehard fan of his. I found listening to the spoken word almost (admidittedl, not quite) as exciting as holding a book. Obviously, there is nothing as viscerally satisfying as reading from a book, but beggars can't be choosers sometimes. I especially delighted in finding how great the storyteller is on an audiobook. They change voices, accents, etc. and really do a bang-up job.

I will be ordering more of these easy to use, relaxing to "read" and all around enjoyable new media for me. Virtually hands free reading, give it a try! And the best thing? When I was finished, I sold the Plague Ship for a small profit. Seems, there are many lovers of Cussler's thrillers in any form of media.
