Pirates from down under
A swashbuckling pirate king and a lyrical Frederick are the best features of this Gilbert and Sullivan staple. The daughters sing well, the stage movement is bold and fluid without distracting from the songs, and the Major General is cute but refrains from the excess shtick that too often mars that part. One of the best Pirates on DVD.
