Movie Description
After the action of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN'S CHEST, anti-hero Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is trapped in the netherworld of Davy Jones's locker. Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) has returned from the dead to aid Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) in their quest to rescue the beloved captain. They journey to Singapore to ask for help from notorious pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat), and with this new alliance, they travel to the edge of the earth to find Jack. Then they will join forces with the world's most powerful pirates to unite against Lord Brackett (Tom Hollander) and the East India Company.

AT WORLD'S END is an exercise in excess, boasting a running time of nearly three hours and a labyrinthine map of double- and triple-crosses. Characters return from the dead and change allegiances with ease, thanks to the magic of Tia Dalma (Naomie Harris) and the pirate code of ethics--or lack thereof. Though the third film in the series is filled with action and special effects befitting any blockbuster, it's the performances that make the movie memorable. Depp has earned an Oscar nod for his role as Jack, but he's not the only one who shines. With Jack locked away, the film sits on the strong shoulders of Rush, as well as Stellan Skarsgard as Bootstrap Bill and the brilliant British actor Bill Nighy as Davy Jones. Despite having to act behind a mess of CGI tentacles, Nighy nearly steals the show, as in the previous films UNDERWORLD and LOVE ACTUALLY. This is literally and figuratively the darkest entry in director Gore Verbinski's trilogy, as the film trades the sunny skies of the Caribbean for the world's most treacherous seas. There's plenty of rum-soaked humor, but it's balanced by betrayal and sacrifice.

My whole family loved the first Pirate movies and we recently ordered the Pirates 3 on pay per view to fill up xmas vacation time.

I have found it to be very hard to find movies that a family can watch and enjoy together, with everyone getting something out of it. We are careful to not allow a lot of crud in our house which I view as my parental job; but that also limits movies down to just about nothing. Movies are always too kid like, boring for older kids and adults or not fit for kids to watch or understand. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is an exception.

My kids range from 10-16 and they all enjoyed Pirates 3. I think they have watched it three times now. My 16 year old daughter has a major pirate fetish and it is great fun to talk about Johnny Depp from *the old days* of the 1980's with her. The Pirate movies are something we can all share and enjoy.

The movie does not disappoint in special effects, action, pirate yumminess or acting ability. The movie does push three hours in length; which can be a tad too long for some kids. The storyline does jump around a bit; which is the only reasons I am giving it a 4 star rating instead of a 5. Parents may have to explain a little to kids...especially since they may not be able to understand the character voices, Otherwise the movie, as the first two, is loads of swashbucking fun.

If you do not have kids and just love Johnny, Orlando, pirates, special effects, etc...you should also enjoy this movie.

I received this item for Christmas and I absolutely loved it.The movie sequences are very good and it makes you feel like you are part of the crew. The one thing I am not sure about is if there will be a #4 or not.In #3 it definatey leaves a space left open for a #4.I would be thrilled if a #4 were to come out and I would definitely recommend this movie to adventure loving people.
