One of the good things about this game is that it is made to where almost anyone can follow along with the story line and understand what's happening, regardless of whether they are eight or eighty. The graphics are bright and surprisingly detailed. Although navigating your ship can get annoying if you don't know how to do it.
This game was obviously made after the Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and if you are a die-hard fan of the main character, Captain Jack Sparrow, then you may not like this game. You would think they would try to somewhat duplicate the image and reactions of Captain Jack Sparrow from the movie on to the game. Nope. This character on the game looks nothing at all like Jack, not even the clothing is similar. His personality is completely different too; he says things that Jack would never say. Personally, this bothers me. I very much love the movie and it's characters; that's the whole reason why I bought the game! I wanted to see the resemblance to the movie, so I could relive the movie through the game and have fun at the same time! So that's why I was disappointed.
If you do not care about all the little details like I do, then you will probably really enjoy this game. I didn't go all the way through it, but it is pretty straightforward. Young children will like it because it came from a movie they liked and they get to play as a pirate! I bought this game for my 6 year old son and he absolutely loves it. The graphics are great and the game is challenging, yet easy enough for him to manuever through the levels. Of course we are big Pirates of the Caribbean fans so the game brings the characters to life for us and the music is teriffic as my son hums along with it. He really enjoys playing it and it is challenging enough to frustrate him at times and make him really think in creative ways. *****

I bought the product for my grandson. He loves to play the game. I just wish I would have known that no instructions came with it. He still plays with it and enjoys the music and graphics. He's only 4 1/2 still manages to find new things every time he plays with it.

This is a fun game with great graphics and very creative storyline such as being stranded on a deserted island. It is a little harder for younger kids to play because of coordination. I look forward to a second!

I love the fact that this game is easy enough for my 6 yr. old nephew to understand and play. HE LOVES IT! Of all the game choices he had as an option for me to buy for him, he chose Pirates of The Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl for his Game Boy Advance. The graphics are really great and the challenges are just perfect for young boys looking for adventure!!

So if you buy this, expecting Captain Jack Sparrow as he is in theaters, forget it! This game was good for a used game. I would not recommend buying it at full list price, much more over $10. It's ok, it is fairly easy for most ages above 8-10 years old. NOT really good for younger children, kind of hard to follow and figure out directions.
