A Pirate Looks at Fifty by Jimmy Buffett (1999, Paperback, Reprint)

If you are a member of the Parrothead Nation this book is a must read from the leader of the Nation.It give's in detail the Life of Jimmy for the first 50 years of his life. Which has been very adventerous. So buy this book and meet the rest of the Parrothead Nation in Magaritaville.

I've found better books in bathrooms. This ragged POS was not at all what I expected from a seller with such a seller score. I would not recommend to anyone I know buying a book from them,as their disrcription was not accurate at all as to the quality or condition of the book.

I am a Jimmy Buffett fan for over 35 years. I identify with him. I love boats and planes and beaches...etc, etc, so it is from this framework that I read the book. The book describes a trip that he and his wife, Jane, planned to celebrate JB's 50th birthday. His Birthday is on Christmas so they left in Jimmy's seaplane from Miami on Christmas day to start their 3 week trip around the Caribbean by various different Sea Planes, and the book chronicles the places that they visited. Believe ir or not, there are a couple of beaches that JB has not visited in the Caribbean and he made these beaches part of the trip. He visited Manaus Brazil, Costa Rica, and many of the Lesser Antilles, Leeward and Windward Islands of the Caribbean. As they travelled around in the book, JB cuts out on tangents or stories, famous or infamous, of his life, and weaves lyrics of his songs into the book.
He tells the story of his airplane crash off of Nantucket among others. Even if you don't like JB, this is a great book. If you are familiar with his material, it is a classic. One of my favorites...It really does make you want to take off on your own trip.
