Not one to get excited about

I have read every book he has had published and this ranks pretty far down the list of ones I'd like to read again. In fact, it's not on the list. The characters are there, for the most part, but not like we love them. Some shockers are in there, as far as character mortality, that left me shaking my head. The Wulfgar section just seemed, well, for lack of a better word..."stupid". There is nothing in this one to endear me to any of the characters, and that includes the beloved Drizzt, which saddens me. It was written more like a man who just had a deadline to meet and threw some words onto a page than with time lovingly spent on a purposeful plot. Sure, you have to read it to keep up with the series but don't bank on ending it with a smile and a burning desire for more. More like ending with you shaking your head and asking "What the heck was THAT".
