Pirates and passion on the high seas are the stuff of MacGregor's late-18th-century romance. Spunky and tenacious Serenity James wants to be a reporter, but her father won't allow her to do anything more than edit copy for his Savannah, Ga., newspaper. The determined miss takes the initiative, sneaking one of her stories into the publication without her father's knowledge. Serenity's storytelling prowess and imagination, however, brush too close to the truth regarding the real identity of the handsome privateer, Captain Morgan Drake. Convinced that Serenity somehow knows that he was once a notorious pirate, the captain intends to stop her from revealing his secret. Serenity is kidnapped and taken aboard the infamous Sea Wolf. While ensuing events are a bit predictable (it's not long until the handsome hero takes Serenity to bed), all is not lost.
