I am VERY upset !
You sold a USED NON WORKING piece of equipment, and it is not as advertised.
THIS IS FRAUD!!!
You advertised that the unit has fire wire in/out, but you lied !!!
You were reported to EBAY's FRAUD DEPARTMENT and to the LAPD BUNCO SQUAD!

Keep it up :)

No Firewire.........DUH.........do your research Idiot.
The Internet is a valuable source of Info.
Look up the Brand and model # before you purchase ANY Item.(try google genuis)
Other than Mr. Ding Dongs Dipsticks previous review of this DVD Recorder.
This the most Solid Topo -notch DVD recorder that I have ever owned.
My VHS recorder hasn't seen any action in Months and probably never will again.
Pioneer makes serious quality stuff and this is no exception.
I am actually looking into buying another one.
This the best electronics device purchase That I have made in about 5 years.
I have worked in the Broadcasting Field for 12 years I deal w/ Top end experimental and Broadcast Quality HD and SD DVD equipment Daily, I have Sony HD certified training and work on equipment that only a handful of companies can afford So I know what I am talking about.
I have purchased 2 other Brand DVDrecorders and they were all crap.
If you buy this DVDrecorder and you don't like it then sell it too me!!!!
Pioneer is Top-notch and these DVD-recorders are rock solid to the max!!
Sony is the only Brand that might be slightly better in DVD-recorders.
But for the Price and quality of this Item WTF!!! you can't lose.
Burn your VHS player and buy Pioneer DVDr model 220
Best bang for the Buck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  Pioneer DVR-220 Review

I rarely write reviews, but my DVR-220 just died, it won't power on. It was the switching hub for the antenna HD converter and VHS player. It was made in April 2004 and died November 2008. 4-1/2 year lifespan.

Seems low to me, what do you think? I've TV's for 10 years, and the first model RCA VHS recorder that lasted for almost 20 years. I know this is a mechanical device, heavily used, but it looks like the power supply failed.

I give it a below average on lifespan, but Good to excellent on recording and setup.

  Buying another one

My 225 which I bought from Best Buy nearly 3 yrs ago @ $240 finally gave out on me after approx 400+ discs recorded from my Betamax library. I also purchased a Sony at about the same time b/c it was the only one then offering multi-format. The best feature to me is that of editing home movies. Pioneer gives you a row of pics for every chaper so you can easily go to the one you want like "Joe playing w/ the dog." You can either play, edit, or erase it. Sony, OTOH, gives you a number, date, & time. Unless you've kept a log book, it's difficult and time-consuming to find Joe and the dog. That's why I just bought another Pioneer off Ebay. The Sony still works fine and I use it to dupe from the Pioneer for other family members.

I also went to the Pioneer web site and found no recorders being offered save Blue Lite. If this means they've stopped making the others I suggest any buyer getting on board quickly. Remember what happened to Betamax.
