Pro's and Con's
Pioneer DV-420V is a 2009 model. It improved the video performance, close to that with deep color, and added Kuro Link feature. Very good buy for the quality and price.
Pro's: Very good video output and easy remote control. Sending out video and Dolby, dts and analog audio simultaneously via HDMI, composite, and component outputs, and digital (coax and optical) and analog outputs. Auto play and auto shut off power. Definitely worth the price.
Con's: Front panel display is still in minutes, instead of displaying title/chapter and elapse time in hours and minutes--as the higher level DVD player should use. Audio frequency limit is up to 96 KHz, instead of 192 KHz which is common in recent models of other brands. Output HDMI when playing a VCD doesn't have the 16:9 Compressed (changing 16:9 to 4:3) feature, while other brands have it.
