excellent dvd player, i come from europe and needed a multi regional dvd to watch my old movies plus new ones..it is perfect. a slim design so it doesn't take up lots of room, easy to operate remote, there is nothing i don't like about it. it plays dvd's from anywhere in the world, cd's mp3's and even jpeg's from a computer. highly recomend to anyone who travels.

) After owning one of the first pioneer DVD players for several years, it was time to upgrade. I started with a circa 1996 DV-414, that worked perfect until a massive power surge took it out. I had went shopping for a new player with pioneer in mind (from previous expirience). Everything works beautifully. The ability to play a laundry list of file types, the explorer function, and the quality of playback was more than adequate to balance the price of purchase. You cannot find a higher quality HD-DVD player for the price.

The main reason i bought this dvd player was for the divx compatability and the gui interface( works like a charm). This was probably my best buy on ebay. At first though when i got it i expected the quality to be a lot lower in comparison to how it was on my comp because of resizing and the fact i had most of my files on data discs with a multitude of files on each. However the quality was a mirror image of how it was on my comp. as well as a user friendly gui interface making file searching easy as 1 2 3. I advise anyone who is making a decision on what dvd player to buy to make the right choice and choose the Pioneer DV-393-S.
PS: but make sure that you don't make the same mistake as me and assume that the seller's dvd player comes with a remote ..LOL ... -_- *sigh
