Movie Description
With Christmas on the way, Pinocchio (voiced by Todd Porter) wishes for nothing more than to buy his father, Gepetto, a gift. In order to earn money for a present, he joins a traveling puppet show and embarks on a series of episodic adventures, meeting characters that include a villainous fox who cons him out of his money and an attractive girl puppet with whom he falls in love with and elopes. Penniless but in the midst of romance, Pinocchio finds that things take a turn for the worse when he's sold to a royal prince. In over his wooden head, Pinocchio finds himself turning to Santa Claus for help.


In the tradition of LITTLE DRUMMER BOY and RUDOLPH'S SHINY NEW YEAR, directors Jules Bass and Arthur Rankin deliver another poignant, original Christmas special. Here Rankin and Bass expand on Carlo Collodi's original characters and introduce the unfamiliar persona of the girl puppet Julietta. Featuring several original songs composed by director Bass and songwriter Maury Laws, PINOCCHIO'S CHRISTMAS is a charming, unforgettable tale.
