Most of Pink Floyd's double CD set is put to DVD including British war scenes from WWII, a child who lost his father to the war, tried to fit into his stalwart uniform, society in general, and was likely so sensitive a man that it drive him nuts to live in such a brutal world of violence.

Aminator Gerald Scarfe takes unfilmable scenes of an abused child's life and adult imaganation and makes them into highly effective art to Pink Floyd's best musical score.

After seeing many a rock music movie, The Wall is the real thing. The musical interpretation and animated horrification of an extremely talented man who had every reason from birth onwards not to be.

As an adult child who also lost their father as a toddler, the film had me in tears because it rang too true to my own real life experience during the same historical period. I hope that other fatherless adult children have the opportunity to see and hear The Wall. The heavy rock music and graphic animation are somehow healing.

I had bought this movie because I wanted a DVD copy of it to update my collection. I saw this movie when it was 1st released to theaters in the '80s. My friends & I saw it about 8 - 10 times the 1st week it was out! You have to be a real "Floyd Fan" to really get into the story behind the movie. It is a combination of 2 "true" stories made into 1 trippy helluva musical journey! That's the best way I can describe it. If you love the music, then try this movie!!! 3 THUMBS WAYYYY UPPPP!!!

This film may be considered only a 'cult classic' in mainstream circles but amoung my crowd it's an epic film of iconic proportions. It stirs up feelings and thoughts within the viewer to such a degree that it may be used as a tool to unfold your mind, that is, helping one's mind to work bigger and better than before. Problems experienced prior to viewing The Wall seem to melt away as a brand new shiny, sparkly way to think and live your life blossom like an indigo rose on a chilly spring morning. It entertains with an unheralded visual display of thought-provoking animations, characters, scenery and settings; simultaneously hinting of decadence and structure, life and love, peace, war, and silly taboos, and the potential within each member of humanity to become fully the god that lies dormant within each of us. Any frame of film is worthy of the finest gallery, as any musical piece from the Wall may stir emotions lain dormant in the hardest of hearts.

One of those mind altering films that you can watch several times (usually not in a row, that's too overwhelming) and find new amazing illustrations and parallels in it. I highly recomend it to anyone a little adventurous and dark.

When I came across this DVD and it did`nt have any bids on it I should have read the fine print a little better,As it turns out the DVD is formatted 2-6 Europe,so my DVD will not play at all on any of my equipment which is a BUMMER!! because I really like Pink Floyd and their music,have never seen this movie,and pretty much wasted $16.00 on a DVD that is no good to me. But It`s my own fault,Damn!!

I saw the movie "The Wall" by Pink Floyd the first day it showed in Mobile. It seems so long ago now. But the DVD movie refreshed my memory very well! I loved the music, the acting, the animation, the writers, the direction, the... well... everything about it. The movie added quite a bit of content and visualization to the picture, the music, and the lyrics painted in my mind.

I sure do miss seeing The Wall on a movie theater's big screen. My 21" TV does not do the movie justice. It's ok... but I bet it would look much better on an up-to-date oversized HD Plasma TV. Hmmmm.

By the way... my son-in-law watched the movie for the first time and loved it too! We were discussing the songs on the album and he was surprised when I mentioned that there was a movie. So, I ordered it off ebay for less than half of the store price (that includes... the DVD + shipping & handling) and here I am telling you how much I (we) enjoyed watching it at home this time around.

Not what I expected. Too way out for me. I was mislead by a TV program featuring Pink Floyd. I thought the DVD was more like a Pink Floyd concert with backstage interviews, etc. I guess I'm not cool, but I do love Pink Floyd's music.

a must see if you are a rock fan! bought it to show my daughter who started listening to pink floyd and led zep recently at age 16. it was a great family movie to watch together... i would recommend it to anyone...

If you have never seen Pink Floyd The Wall, it may be very difficult to understand at first. This one is a must see for anybody who is stuck in a box or anybody who is already out of the box... :)

this is our 3rd DVD for this title my kids ages 10,11,14 have grown up on pink floyd and love to watch and Jam to this title.we just wear out the DVD's!

I owned "The Wall" VHS and was upgrading. The DVD has better photo quality and sound. It has Hi Def, unreleased footage and Dolby Digital and Surrond Sound. One of the things I enjoyed the most was the 25 minutes of documentary about the making of the film. I always wondered how many editons of The Wall was made and why and the real story about The Wall and how it came to the making.
There is also and interesting 45 minute documentary with interviews with Roger Waters, Gerald Scarfe and many more very important people in the making of this fantastic movie.
A plus addition to any Pink Floyd lover!

This is such an awesome dvd!!! I am in my 40's and I was there when it first came out. It was like, "WOW!!". We LOVED it. I do not know if the new generation will understand this movie, but take it however you want. There are several ways to look at this movie.
But after 20 years, I still LOVE the movie. Hard to believe it has been that long ago.
So, sit back...watch it, and get your own meaning...not whats on the cover, THINK and watch it with an open mind!!!

I absolutly love this film.
The animation, the feeling.
It takes you into the realm of pink's mind, and throws your perspective out of place.
This film isn't just action or drama,this film makes you think and think and wonder, how someone goes through this. Yet somehow we all go through this feeling of alienation and discomfort. That is what I like about this film.

Enough has been said about the grandiosity of this movie, but I get really upset when I read the description utilized by ebay for this movie. The wall is an expression and a recollection of Water's life not Barret. They were close friends and Waters tried to seek proffesional help for Barret's mental illness, but in no way THe Wall is a depiction of Barret's life. It represents Waters own emotional battle with fame and personal life marked by personal experiences. Just to make my point. Water's father died in WWII (one of the main characters in the wall's depiction) Barret's father was a pathologist not related at all with the military or the war experience. Pink Floyd's homenage to Barret was the album Wish you were here. I'll be really pissed off if I'll be Waters and after depicting my emtions in such a majestic way, some major website will completely missinterpret my master work

Amazing music, beautiful visuals. Great buy for a cheap price. If you watch this movie, please watch it on a large screen or an hdtv, other televisions don't do it justice. Pink Floyd masterfully made this movie and it still remains a classic today.

This is a really great movie. All the songs of the cds The Wall are in the movie and they fit exactly with the pictures you see.For those who are Pink Floyd's fan...you should see this movie!

I love this movie I can watch it over and over and not get tired of it. The quality of the DVD is good though the case is paper and not plastic. But overall I am satisfied with the prduct.

i have already watched the movie 3 times! and it's in perfect condition no stops during the movie or skips. nothing to dislike about it it'd say! good deal!
