Ping i3 + Iron set Golf Club

I won these in an auction on ebay. They are regular flex, graphite shafted, green dot (2* UP) with orange code grips. I did the static fit on Ping.com and previously had a local professional fit me dynamically. These were perfect match for me, except for the regular flex. However, I found that by working on tempo and not trying to kill the ball, I am able to gain considerable distance and accuracy over my old irons (Titleist DCI 990).

My point is this; get a solid fitting in before you buy any irons. They might be a good deal, but there is a reason Ping fits you to the club.

About the i3+ irons. These irons play well. I found it easy to shape shots from right to left. It was a bit more difficult left to right, but I've never been able to do that well anyhow. Because I was able to let the club hit the ball and control my tempo better, the ball flight was consistent and the carry was, too. My accuracy has increased dramatically, as well. Especially from the 8 iron down to the pitching wedge. The shot trajectory is much higher and softer landing with these and I don't get a lot of roll. Again, especially from the 8 iron down.

I attribute a lot of the improvements to the chnge in my tempo, but I give the Ping i3+ the credit for helping me change the tempo of my swing and really feel what I am doing with the shot except the swing weight on the i3+ seems a bit lighter than that of other irons I have hit. That would be the only downside I can see. Mishits are not so bad either. You really have to shank the ball or leave the clubface open to mess a shot up with these.

Expect to pay more for the various graphite shafts. The Ping custom WRX clubs are usually more as well. If you find a set of i3+'s with a matching sand wedge, jump on it because the sand wedges are hard to find individually.

In addition, if you are not very good at the long irons (2,3, and 4) you may want to look at the G5 hybrids.

Be careful when bidding. There are some demo clubs floating around out there. Check with the seller for serial numbers as all Ping consumer clubs have them. Pay attention to feedback scores. This is Ebay's barometer of service. I swear by the feedback system.

I really love these clubs. Ebay has been the best place for me to buy clubs to try and or pruchase. Being left handed it's hard to try clubs without purchasing them, and using ebay means that if i don't like them, I can always turn around and sell them, which I am going to do with my old clubs.
The Ping i3+ clubs I purchased have performed really beyond my expectations. I wanted to try them because a friend has a set in right hand and says he will never buy another set of irons. And now I agree with him.

Ping has always made easy to hit irons way back to the Ping Eyes. These are no exception. Solid feel and soft high shots. These can be faded or drawn with relative ease. The i3 has a great feature in the sole which keeps the club from "digging in" which results in much better ball contact even on slightly fat shots. The set I bought came with S59 tour Gap and Sand wedges. These have been the easiest wedges to hit from all types of lies I ever played. These are great clubs.

These are the best clubs ever! The hit straight and have taken 8 strokes off my game! Wouldn't use anything else!!

I love Ping I/3+ irons..I sell clubs as a hobby and find it hard to keep a set of I/3+ irons very long. Especially the graphite series are best for me as it just seems like the ball launches off the club head easier...Ping irons are definitely a hot seller and will continue to be...

I purchanse this iron replacing my ping eye2. Wow nice set of club for very resonable price. The contact of the ball is more firm and add 15yards to my shot comparing to my privous club. If you're looking for a nice set of used club without break the bank, you should try ping i3 a try. You won't regret it.

I have gone through several manufacturer/sets of clubs trying to find the "latest and greatest" in the quest to shave strokes off my game. I have tried and owned numerous sets of irons over the years, and I must say that I still have found nothing that is appreciably better than the older Ping i3+ models. The durability/longevity of the Ping irons is unmatched in the industry. The feel and performance gets high marks as well. Why spend hundreds of dollars on the latest and greatest when you can spend a fraction of the cost on a set of older Pings that will perform just as well, if not better than the "latest and greatest"!

Ping lives up to it's reputation with the i3 irons. They have a great feel to them as well as a solid hit on all the clubs

Purchased a combo set of 3-6 regular I3+'s and 7-W I3+ Blades. AWESOME combination!! Before you purchase ANY ping clubs do yourself a favor and try out some demo Pings at a local proshop or course. Also, go to Pings website and do the fitting to get a ballpark of what color code you need. It turned out i needed 2 degree's upright which is the Ping green color code. I found exactly what I needed on Ebay.

After purchasing the clubs and saving about $500 off the purchase of a brand new set..I am completely satisfied with the purchase and the performance of the clubs. The clubs perform exactly how I expected after doing some research of what other people had to say about the Ping I3+. Outstanding ballflight, control, and distance.

If your tired of your old set get fitted and go looking on ebay for a set of Pings!!!

I've played with Ping off and on for over 30 years and I'm really happy to get back to Ping with these irons. They give great feedback (although that is not great if you splatter the ball all over the face). If you want clubs you can work (draw or fade) and also get excellent feedback on mis-hit swings, these are it.
The Ping I3's have been used by many top pros and if you're a serious golfer you need to see if you can find a set. I previously played the Eye2's and have missed them greatly.
I am a retired high school golf coach and at one time played to 8-9 handicap. Age (74) and infirmity has edged my handicap up to 17 now, but hopefully with the i3's I'll get it back down again.
Give these clubs a try.
If you need something more forgiving, try the Ping i3 oversized. I just don't like looking at large oversized clubs despite the forgiveness.
By the way, I also play a 35 year old Ping Anser putter. It is the best putter ever made. It gives accuracy on short putts and marvelous feel for distance on long putts.

I had an old used set of Golden Bears that I had for 13 years and they were pretty dated. My friend had a set of i3 + and I used them once and liked them alot. I bought this set on ebay and OMG my game has improved tremendously, they are very well balanced and forgiving clubs

I'm just getting back into golf after a 15 year hiatus. I always knew that Ping was a quality brand, and I'm not disappointed in these Ping I3+ irons. They are easy to hit if your swing mechanics are right.

I needed some new clubs, and a buddy of mine told me about Ebay. Well, I found what I wanted and talked to the seller and everything is history. I had a great expierence and will come back.

Bought these after I finally decided it was time to get a new set (still love my old set though, old set are Ping Eye 2 originals pat pending ones with jz lite steel shaft shaft red dot) got fitted at Ping outlet, was told I could go .25 inch shorter on shaft and that I could go with regular flex steel shaft, I found this set on ebay .25 shorter cs lite steel shaft black dot (standard lie). Love these clubs when they came out, love them now that I have them, easy to hit and get airbourne, I always had a high ball but these with the cs lite shaft really get them up. I could always work the ball right to left (I'm righthanded) with a little effort but these clubs do it on there own if I really go after one, working the ball left to right alittle harder but can still do it. Excellent clubs, excellent feel and balance to clubhead. I decided to get these because of Ping name and that I had always played Ping irons (1 set) or wedges(mb iwedge ) woods (3 5 7) or drivers(TiTec isi g5 g10)or putters(b60 isopur zing2f craz-e g5). Great clubs no matter what.

Purchased them because of great reputation, fantastic grips, great feel and lots of forgivness, really easy to control will dramatically improve my game.......
