  Can't beat the original ZINGS!

These clubs are classic Pings. They were designed with an unusual shape that is so forgiving it is amazing. These clubs were well ahead of thier time. I also own Big Berthas and Taylor Made but the Ping Zings are the most forgiving and perform so much better than the others. The best part is anybody looking at your clubs 15 yards or closer don't even have to ask what kind of clubs they are...............you know they are PING! Thanks Karsten.

Ping Zings Rule, Beware of Listing stating "New"
Review created: 03/16/07

I used to hit nothing but Hogan Blades until my wife bought me a set of Ping Zing irons (3-PW) in Jan. 2006 and I have never regretted the switch to those clunky things since. The degree of loft on original Ping models is a little higher standard irons today but they are still the longest irons I've ever owned. The amazing thing about my irons when purchased was that they had been completely refurbished. I have since purchase matching SW, LW, and 2-iron. In the market for the 1-iron with stiff JZ-cushion shaft. The additional clubs are a little different than my original set and here is why:

It is IMPORTANT for new buyers to realize that these irons are 15+ years and older. Any claims to irons never being hit most likely is a farce. If seller has this stated make sure they have pictures of the grooves. The BOTTOM 2 GROOVES on the club face are supposed to be completely white and the club heads should NOT have a smooth glossy look to them. When I received mine irons they had a rough texture to them. Old Ping irons get a glossy smooth texture are being played with for a while. Believe me my Zings are wearing down a little now and they are getting the look of the used Ping irons you see is golf shops. SMOOTH, GLOSSY, AND SHINY MEANS OLD, HIT, and DEFINITELY USED.

If you would like to see a comparison between my USED irons that haven't been refurbished and the Refurbished Zings email me and I will most definitely send you some pics. email: gmw062706@hotmail.com

Take care and Good Luck with finding a set of these incredible irons.

  PING ZINGS
Review created: 08/14/07(updated 09/04/07)
by:
5 of 5 people found this review helpful.

Ping Zings are the BEST engineered of the Ping irons. Better than Eye2, Zing2, ISI, etc. . Very forgiving. Straight. Long even with mishits.
Two problems with Zings though:
1. The odd shape of the exuberant toe weighting. Difficult on the eyes, so did not sell well during introduction in 1992. BUT who REALLY cares. Discontinued in 1994, though could still be purchased as a whole set from Ping thru 1999.
2. Zings, because of the heavy toe weighting, tended to fracture graphite shafts. Ping got tired of replacing graphite shafts. Steel shafts: no problem.
Don't believe me? Call Ping @ 800-424-6434. They'll tell you the same.
One caveat with Zings though. They have a memory. If you have the lie angle of black dots changed, for example, to blue dots, the memory will eventually rectify them back to black. Better to get Zings that are properly dot coded to you, and that have not been previously dot (lie angle) changed.
No reason to fiddle, Zings are all you'll ever need.

These clubs are hard to find first of all, second of all they are even harder to find in pristine condition and a complete set. Seller did a great of job of displaying the clubs and an even better job of packaging them. Kudos!

Switched to the ZINGS and will never change
Review created: 11/28/07
by:
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I played for many years with Haig-Ultras, Wilson Staffs and the original Ping Eye's. Started making my own clubs and it quickly became a hobby and I've assembled numerous sets of clubs for family and friends. I thought I had made the perfect set of clubs with the Golfsmith Tour Cavities with the X-90 firm shafts. I was wrong. I traded a new set of irons to a friend for a used set of Zings (Black dot-standard length-ZZ65 stiff shafts). For years I played to a 5-6 handicap but now I only play about once a month and the HC has steadily risen to 14-15. I put these clubs in my bag and have played 6 rounds so far, ranging from 78-87. They allow me to make a smooth pass at the ball without having to come out of my shoes to achieve distance. At my age (57)I had started loosing distance and accuracy. I hit these babies right on the mark with little effort. After a couple of rounds my confidence was back and I started shooting for the pins. Hence the 78. First time I've broke 80 in over 10 years. I'll never switch clubs again. I may have to go to a different shaft eventually, but I won't switch. All the new technology and high caliber price associated with it will never replace the feeling of a purely struck golf ball and the ZINGS deliver that feeling.

I am very pleased with these clubs. They are top notch. To be as old as they are, they play better than any set of clubs I have ever held. Seriously cut 10 strokes off of my HC. Would recommend to anyone that enjoys the game of golf.

These are really great clubs. I've never had so many great miss hits as I have with these irons. Excessive weighting make all shots go strait. Can't beleive how well they perform after all these years.

My recent purchase of a set of Ping Zing irons -awesome
Review created: 03/06/08
by:
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I've been playing with my Ping Zing irons for a couple of months now and my game has improved tremendously. These irons square up so easily and allow for outstanding accuracy even on mishit. I had new grips put on them and I'm looking forward to playing a lot of golf. Many years ago I always wanted some pings but could not afford them, but I bought these on E-Bay for around $200. My confidence in approaching any shot is always positive, knowing that I can deliver the ball where i want to. I also purchased Cobra LD M Speed driver and woods, which just intimidate the guys I play with because of the sound and distance. E-bay does a good job of advertising and describing the products, so I do a comparison with the new expensive stuff and E-bay makes better sense for me and my game, plus my wife does'nt fuss as much about spending so much money.
Thanks

They are about 15 years old and I shot my best 2 rounds of the season with them--in late October in Pittsburgh. Zings never go out of style.

  Ping Zing the sweet swing
Review created: 09/09/07
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

As a cashual golfer I wanted to upgrade my irons to see if it helped my game. The feel of these irons is excellrent, it alows me to swing smother, launching the ball higher. I am able to downsize one club for each distance needed. This has slowed my swing down allowing it to be smother. I'll never be a great golfer but I am smilling alot more these days, its the irons, there do make a difference.

The clubs match the sellers desciption and are in very good condition. The seller was very responsive to my questions and when I requested a delay in shipping due to vacation the seller was very accommodating. You can't ask for a better transaction between parties from my view point.

  EXCELLENT GOLF CLUBS
Review created: 07/08/09
by:

I had a set of ping zings about 15 years ago and played pretty well with them and of course sold them and bought other clubs. I love to play with ping golf clubs and have the raptures, i3 blades and just sold the isi nickel and just bought the ping zing a couple of weeks ago and shot a 76 this past weekend and they are a great set of clubs. Great feeling club and very forgiving and I love the way they look. You can't go wrong buying ping and they are always worth the money and if you decide to sell you can usually get your money back. I like them so much I bought two sets one I play with and the other set was just refinished and looks brand new.

Classic clubs for a great price, amateur player.
Review created: 06/18/09

Based on the pics I was able to see the condition of the Ping Zing golf clubs. I was looking for a classic set of irons that showed minimum wear. The face and grooves were the most important features I was looking for. I would be replacing the shafts and grips so those features were not important.

These clubs are very forgiving, the sweet spot is much easier to hit. I have consistently hit straighter shots with fewer miss-hits. These are not the longest hitting irons I have used, but they are the most accurate. I would recommend them to the weekend golfer looking to upgrade an entry level set of irons without breaking the bank. I picked up my set on eBay for $165.00.

  Ping Zing Iron set
Review created: 04/28/09
by:

I have a set of Ping Eye 2 clubs and the opportunity to buy these brand new Ping Zings was too good to pass on. I am trying to get used to the extra toe weight and may have the factory bend the clubs from a blue dot to a red dot. The clubs were exactly as advertised - brand spanking new. I have switched to the Anser putter that was part of the set and I am putting better. I can hit the Ping Zings farther than the Ping Eye 2s and I just have to get my hands around quicker to compensate for the toe weighting.

  Ping Zing Irons are great

great irons. my first shot, using these irons, was a 185 yard 4 iron. I hit a draw into a mid-size green. Pin was tucked into the back right of green. My ball hit about 15 feet from pin and rolled another 5 feet, leaving me a 10 ft birdie putt.

  Ping Zing Irons
Review created: 04/22/09

My husband has played a set of Ping Zing irons for years now. I always used to ask him if he wanted a newer set of irons. Now I know why he does not. I really recommend ping products. I found a set of Ping Zing 2 gold dot irons with graphite shafts on e-bay for a steal (thought I would see what was so great) They were 2 inches short of mens's length, which were perfect for me at 5'0" tall. Put new grips on them, and I love them. My iron game has really improved since playing the Zing 2's. They feel so good when you hit them. The ball flight is high, and they land soft on the greens. If you are looking for an easy, forgiving set of irons- these are the irons for you. I see that the Zing 2's are a little different in appearance than the Zing's, but I expect that they feel and hit very similar. I have not hit any of they newer Ping irons, like the rapture or G10's but, for the price, you can't go wrong with the older models. You should be able to purchase a set on e-bay for less than 200 dollars. We just picked up a set for my husband's brother-in- law for 180. He hit my husband's and liked them so much, that he wanted me to find him a set. I also just bought a set of ping i3 o-size with lite steel a- flex shafts that I haven't got the chance to take out on the course yet. (not sure why, I love my Zing 2's, but I'm a bit of a club collector) I figure I'll save the other set for my son to use when he gets a bit older. I also added 15-20 yards to my drive going with the G5 driver. Like I said before, I REALLY recommend Ping products.

Ping Zing's are one of the best clubs Ping has made. It provides a larger club head service. The borad offset blade allows for better accuracy, and enhance a golfer's play.
