Ping Zing 2 Iron set Golf Club

The ZING2s are among PINGs most forgiving irons and are very easy to hit for any golfer. I've gone thru several brands and models from Wilsons to the TM Burners, the Cobras... I got hooked on the Zings. The clubs are AWSOME to hold and swing! I personally love the solid "feel" the ZING2 imparts when it strikes the ball.....even on miss-hits! Aside from how this club feels, I also like the fact that the design for the ZING2s are so unique that a golfer from ten yards away can instantly tell that you're swinging Pings!

I've hit every ping from the Karten I to the G5i and the Ping Zing and Zing two are the easiest yet most workable clubs I've ever hit. I currently own 25+ sets of clubs and these are the best. Remarkable sweet spot and confidence at address have turned my game of shotting low ninties into mid 80's. The heavy yet crisp sight line makes alignment easy, the spin is awesome, and the head size and shape allow you to simply go after your shot with confidence. They have great feel through the divot and I leave my hybrids in the garage in favor of the 1 and 2 irons. The ISI irons don't seem to have as much response towards the toe and the newer generationi fo ping irons seem average at best. These irons can not only improve your game but also produce enough workability to be a sensible choice for the scratch golfer.

These Irons are awsome, I have played with many high priced irons and always come back to my old Zing's. The only problem I have with the Zing 2's is if your playing on very hard fairway's. I seems to be hard to get the club under the ball, due to the curved sole. You have to be right on! If your off center like off the toe, the shot will fly way off target. The regular Zings seem to be more forgiving on off center hits on hard surfaces, I believe this is due to the flatter soles on the regular Zings. If you play on soft fairway's you can't find a better Iron than the Zing 2's. I have a set of both and use them according to the conditions of the fairway's. If you play on soft fairway's the Zing 2 is the better Iron! Be sure and check for a nice even divot to be sure your using the correct color code!

Overall the set was good but the wedge and 9 iron someone has tried to re-groove the irons so they were fairly rough. The seller did not list this in his description of the set.

I have always wanted a set of Ping Zing 2, however, did not want to spend the high dollars 15 years ago. I settled for a set of Cobras Oversize and was not completely satisfied. I have used several other manufacturers of clubs but found the "set-up" not visibly appealing. As years went on I purchased a used set of Ping ISI-K and was completely impressed with these clubs. I recently bought a used set of Ping Zing 2 and must say they are the sweetest hitting club I have ever hit. Forgiveness, feel and the ease of alignment make these clubs better than the ISI-K.
Now for the down fall... These clubs are no longer made by ping. When these club wear out I face purchasing clubs I will not enjoy. The Ping Zing need to be reproduced for the people that enjoy this product.

The most forgiving irons ever made. Just ask aroung the golf forums on the web. Great way to learn the game and play forever!!

These clubs aren't classics without good reason. They have great weighting that produces a consistent ball flight and provide tremendous forgiveness, without sacrificing feel. I also love the steel that's used in these heads, as it's virtually indestructable and cleans up really nice. Something tells me Ping would still like to offer them, as they're as solid as any irons they've ever built. Plus, despite the fact they still cost around $225-$275 on ebay, they're worth every cent and will continue to hold their value for a long, long time. The only down side is the fact they 'look' a little quirky, which might be a turn off to golfers who prefer a more traditional looking iron.

I've gone through at least 6 different sets of "big name" irons (don't know if I can list brands here without being sued). All claim latest technology, easy to hit, etc. I guess they are... for Tiger and Phil. It seems to me that yesterday's technology works better than tomorrow's though when delivered by Ping.

These things are easy to hit and give "forgiveness" a new meaning. I've hit very bad off-center shots and they still go. Those weird toes that you see sticking out of the club not only make it stable on off-center shots, but it seems they also tend to help you close the face as well, even though it sounds counter-intuitive.

Give these a try, I don't think you'll regret it.

The seller is right !!! A better design and a bigger sweet spot !!! These may be the easiest irons EVER to hit !!!

Started using Ping Zing 2 look-a-likes in 1995...Just received my mint set (2 to LW Green Dot with "R" flex Karsten graphite shafts by Aldila) of real "Zings" purchased off EBAY a week ago. They play great!!!....Now I don't have to toe-in" the irons on set-up because of the Green Dot 2 degree upright lie.....balls go straight as a die!!....and they feel so solid on contact.....Man, these clubs play nice!!!....LOVE THOSE "ZINGS"!!!!...Ron G. There's something about the balance you feel when you grip one of these clubs. It's as if you're instilled with a sense of confidence from address, through the backswing and the follow through. These clubs have a unique design which really augments your chances of hitting a fairly decent shot even when it really should've been a not so decent shot. I'm talking serious frogiveness and ease of ball contact. Everyone knows the clubs by their unique design. They really stand out. But by owning these babies, barring any odd fashion statements you choose to make on the golf course, (and believe me there are many,) ultimately, your improved scores will be the only significant thing that really stands out.

I have had pros and pro shop guys tell me that the Zing 2's were Karsten's least desirable club. I have to disagree. I improved my game 10 strokes the first round I played with them. I am going to stay with this club but am trying to find a white dot version. If you are a 15-20 handicapper, these may well be your doorway to becoming a single digit handicapper. I went from an 18 to a 9 and these clubs were the only difference. Didn't change my swing, grip, or lucky shirt--just clubs.

The ping Zing2 irons are everything the Ping Guru said they would . I am a high handicapper and the irons get the ball up and send them far. The condition of the irons were everything that "minitooth" said they were and they were very prompt sending me the product. My friends said that I should've spent the money on new clubs that have better technology but I'm very happy with my Pings. Ping company should pay the Guru a commission on new and used club sales.

ALWAYS WANTED A SET OF PING IRONS.BOUGHT A SET OF PING ZING 2 IRONS.I AM VERY SATISFIED IN SPITE OF THESE BEING OLDER 1990'S IRONS .THEY PLAY GREAT,EASY TO HIT, VERY FORGIVING, AND I'VE HAD MOST MAJOR BRANDS. WOULD ADVISE GUYS WHO HAVE BETWEEN A 100 AND 200 DOLLARS ,TO CHECK OUT A SET OF USED OLDER SET OF PING IRONS.THANK YOU , OTHA WHITE

Clubs in alot worse condition than descibed big nicks in the sole of some and the 6 irons shaft is bent not happy with purchase at all

Greatset of clubs at an excellent price. The feel and forgiveness of these irons is unsurpassed. They are awesome for the low to midrange handicap golfer.

Found these clubs on e-bay was just as described very happy with my purchase.Clubs arrived in great shape and in a very timely manner.

They made a old man very happy. They play like new great distance and feel. I bought these with regular shafts and black dot standard lie, ver hard to find. They play real nice.

I had to wait a while before the set was delivered in Holland but the waiting was worth it. The Ping set is in a very good condition. Grips has dried out so I need to change them that is not a problem. Already for years I wanted to buy a set of Ping Zing 2 as I like the shape of the club heads. On Ebay there is quit an offering of Ping Zing 2 clubs. I like to thank the seller as he packed the set quit nicely and gave me a trust worthy feeling in his correspondence.
