Ping Sedona and Sedona 2

I think the Sedona putters are (were) one of the more clever designs that Ping has devised. If you're the type who has always liked the look of a blade, instead of some of these things that look like they're a tool to adjust warp drive jitter, then you'll love the Sedona. What they did was basically take the old Wilson 8802 type of putter ( which were wonderful putters when you hit the sweet spot, but had an ugly feel if you missed it ) and scooped out the middle of the flange and moved the weight to the heel and toe. This created a heel toe weighted blade putter, that from the user's view, looks just like an old fashioned blade. For extra measure they cut a cavity back in just to increase the heel toe weighted effect. It is a putter that has a great look, and a marvelous feel. Easy to line up, just like some of the "older" blades. The Sedona 2 is the same concept, except that the shaft is set in toward the center of the club face about an inch, where the Sedona is in the heel. I think it is a bit longer and a tiny bit less deep, front to back, than the Sedona also. Same marvelous feel and ease of alignment. I don't know why Pros didn't jump all over these putters. They are the epitome of great feel. I owm 33 putters ( and have traded or sold another 25 or so ) of all makes and models, and the Sedona and Sedona 2 are he ones I use. They make a Sedona I ( Isopure ) but I have not used one. If I had to bet, I would bet on it being great also. I've just never been an Isopure fan. They also make a model Sedona F also. Was never a fan of that either. On the Sedona 2 the sweet spot is exactly where the line is. On the Sedona it is maybe a quarter of an inch toward the heel from center. I think the "perfect" putter that would put every one else out of business would be a JAS Sedona. I would pay 3.2 million dollars for one of those if they ever made one. Listening PING ?
