  Ping Sedona and Sedona 2

I think the Sedona putters are (were) one of the more clever designs that Ping has devised. If you're the type who has always liked the look of a blade, instead of some of these things that look like they're a tool to adjust warp drive jitter, then you'll love the Sedona. What they did was basically take the old Wilson 8802 type of putter ( which were wonderful putters when you hit the sweet spot, but had an ugly feel if you missed it ) and scooped out the middle of the flange and moved the weight to the heel and toe. This created a heel toe weighted blade putter, that from the user's view, looks just like an old fashioned blade. For extra measure they cut a cavity back in just to increase the heel toe weighted effect. It is a putter that has a great look, and a marvelous feel. Easy to line up, just like some of the "older" blades. The Sedona 2 is the same concept, except that the shaft is set in toward the center of the club face about an inch, where the Sedona is in the heel. I think it is a bit longer and a tiny bit less deep, front to back, than the Sedona also. Same marvelous feel and ease of alignment. I don't know why Pros didn't jump all over these putters. They are the epitome of great feel. I owm 33 putters ( and have traded or sold another 25 or so ) of all makes and models, and the Sedona and Sedona 2 are he ones I use. They make a Sedona I ( Isopure ) but I have not used one. If I had to bet, I would bet on it being great also. I've just never been an Isopure fan. They also make a model Sedona F also. Was never a fan of that either. On the Sedona 2 the sweet spot is exactly where the line is. On the Sedona it is maybe a quarter of an inch toward the heel from center. I think the "perfect" putter that would put every one else out of business would be a JAS Sedona. I would pay 3.2 million dollars for one of those if they ever made one. Listening PING ?

  Ping Sedona Putter

I have been looking for this putter since Ping first came out with them about 7 yrs ago. They didn't seem to make too many Sedona model putters, I think they started making the larger headed models and got away from the blade type. After trying the Ping web site with no luck, I found it on E Bay at a great price and it was in excellent condition. Although I paid the buy it now price of $35 plus s&h I thought it was a great price and I didn't want to take a chance on being outbid.

Sedona F and Sedona 2 are excellent blade putters
Review created: 09/02/09

I recently sold my collection of Ping putters - 166 in all. Except I held back the best of all the various types. In the "blade" catagory I kept the steel Sedona 2 and the bronze with pixels Sedona F. I sold the very old Ping blades (A,H,J,N,O, OLD, and Blade), plus the newer Tess models.

I ran tests on over a dozen blade putters patterned after the Wilson 8802 that Arnold Palmer made famous. The subject putters ranged from the aforementioned 8802 (plus 8813 and 8823) to current high-priced models by the biggest putter manufacturers in golf. (I'll protect their identities, but they weren't cheap merchandise.)

The Sedona 2 was my winner, with the Sedona F coming in third. The Sedona 2 has more response on an off-center strike because the shaft entrance to the head is half way between the heel and center. The sound and feel is very pleasing and solid.

The Sedona F was one of the liveliest putters; if you leave putts short, then this putter might be the solution for you. The pixel technology works; off center strikes roll almost as far as perfect hits. I had tuned (ingrained) my stroke over 5 decades, and I consistently rolled the Sedona F putts too far. Nothing wrong with the putter, the "puttee" was just not calibrated.

Because I am a scientist who tests golf merchandise (I must have tested 800 putters alone in my lifetime), I recommend you take a look at the two Sedona putters if you like the look of classic blades.

  PING Sedona Putter
Review created: 11/14/08

I like the looks of the blade putter. If it fits your eye, it will do the job. The one drawback is the lack of a line on the top to line up the ball. It is a heavy putter but I like that.
Ping is always a good bet. The Sedona is an older line but a good putter.

I'm not sure I will putt any better with the Ping Sedona but it will be the fault of the guy holding the putter rather than the putter I suspect.

When the putter first came out I didn't care for it. But later on I wish that I had it in my bag. Well low and behold I found one on e-bay and I made a bid. But then further looking I found another one and I made a bid on that one also. Guess what? I won both bids and now I have two. But I have them the same length same grip and one in each of my bags. Walking and cart bag. So many thanks for the items found on e-bay.
