Ping S58 Iron set Golf Club

From Titleist 681 M b to Ping S58. The tecnology employed in the new design was something that made the S58 my choice. I tried Titleist 775,755,735,660and 695. Mizuno MP 60,37. Callaway X18,forged. . . after a dozen buckets off balls the S58 was still in the hunt and I was not a Ping man. I am both suprised and pleased with the ablilty to shape shots as well as the forgivness this model offers. The fitting was top notch and to the mark. The thin topline and small head with minimal offset is a unique look for ping. A no glare finish rounds off the many great things of this model. Now if I can just get people to stop yanking them out of my bag to try em'.

These S58 irons are for the lower handicapper. They have smaller compact heads. Don't let this stop you. They are very forgiving. You can work the ball left and right high and low with these sticks. I also like the vibration dampening strip in the back.
The cons are few. The hosels tend to seperate from the club heads on the 5-8 irons. Mine were used only 3 rounds when I purchased them and I had to take them in after 5 rounds to get the hosels put back. You also have to take them to an authorized PING dealer to get the work done. Any club repair shop can do this work, however.
I decided to try these becaue up till now I carried a USGA handicap of 1 and have used blade irons.(Ben Hogan Apex 2006 models) I started not being able to solidly contact the ball as well as I used to. These were the first PINGs I ever hit. I was impressed with them right away. I went to a fitter to find out what PING color code I am, then I search ebay for that dot in these irons. I saved over $350 getting them here and some of the irons still had the factory plastic on them!
If you want the playablity of a blad and the forgiveness of a cast iron, give them a try.

While I loved the S59 irons I recently upgraded to the S58's and have not been disappointed. The S58's are more forgiving than the 59's even though the club head is a little shorter/smaller. The trajectory for the 3 and 4 iron is somewhat higher in the newer version and make them easier to hit then the S59 counterparts. If you are looking for a "players club" with clean topline and less offset combined with forgiveness on mishits, these are the irons for you. I would not recommend anyone over a 12 handicap using these clubs.

As close to a blade as possible. These clubs have a nice compact head, you are able to work the ball. You will hit it high, however it seems to carry further than other Pings I have hit. Very solid. they line up well behind the ball.

I have played Ping irons for most of my golfing life. I have mostly played the I series irons, but decided to try out the more blade/muscle back like set of S58s. The irons are much more precise then the I series. That said they are less forgiving, but nothing like a true blade set. Off center hits are still very solid. It's when you hit the ball thin or a little heavy that the clubs are not as forgiving. I wouldn't suggest these to any player with a handicap over 9. If you are in the single digits and are looking for an iron set that is more accurate but still has some forgiveness, then look no further this is your set. I bought my set with the rifle 6.0 shafts. The shafts really help to keep the ball down and on a boring trajectory. If you are very serious about your game and want to take it to the next level then give these irons a try, but if you play once or twice a week and hit the range here and there I would stick to the I series.

I'm an 8, and have been enjoying my Callaway X-20 Tour irons for over a year, but have been struggling to break 80 lately. First 2 rounds out with the S-58's have been 82, 78. These clubs are startlingly straight - so much so that I find myself having to pay more attention to proper alignment.

Also amazing is that they are cast (Ping doesn't do forged) but have the feel of a forged club, which I really missed.

These are by far the best irons on the market. I have always been a Ping fan since I began playing golf (ISI-K irons) and always enjoyed the quality they provide. The S58 irons are the clear winner in a long line of great clubs. These clubs provide confidence at address and have a soft feel upon impact. For a blade-style iron these clubs offer little forgiveness, but the rewards outweigh the mishits. I would suggest these clubs to low- to mid-handicappers.

These irons are great, much more forgiving than other "blades" I've owned.
They have a distinctive look and they feel wonderful when you hit them. Shipping was quick and the clubs are just as advertised.

I like their shot shaping ability. They are very though to master, not for the casual golfer! If mastered this is the last set of clubs you'll going to need.

Great set of irons forgiving with shot shaping ability. Got them on Ebay for a pretty good price vs new and have not been dissapointed. Got the X100 shaft with 3/4 long and 1.5 degrees upright. Perfect fit.

I demoed some irons at a local driving range. I knew what I wanted and elected to buy them off Ebay. I was patient and bid on 3 seperate sets. I knew I was a blue dot and that's what I was bidding on. The irons I won on Ebay stated that they had only 1 or 2 rounds of play on them. I got them for half the cost of a new set. When they were delivered these clubs were brand new. I don't think any of these clubs had ever been hit. The clubfaces were untounched. To get a set brand new at half the cost is well worth it to me. I buy a lot on Ebay and my motto is "know specifically what you want and what you are willing to pay." I also look at the seller rating but I don't overpay. I continue to shop till I get the deal I want. I love Ebay, but i'm very picky about my bidding and buying practices.

I bought this item because I wanted an upgrade. When I saw the price I couldn't pass it up. The seller was very good and was easy to get a hold of. He also answered all questions and was very good about getting this item to me in a decent amount of time. Overall a good buy, I think.

Great set of Ping golf clubs. Not quite as forgiving as the Ping I5 irons, but when thay are hit on the sweet spot, the ball jumps of the club. I think I have picked up 4 to 5 yard per iron and gained some control. I highly recommentd these irons (S58) to any serious golfer.

Packaging was done with great care packing sleeves on all the heads of the irons and nice foam cushion to absorb shock during shipping looked just like it came from the factory packaging

I currently play the S57 Blades but I purchased these for my son. They are an excellent blade that I feel still has alittle more forgiveness than say a Hogan PC.

Bought these clubs for my son which was the first time I bought anything off E-bay. We are very pleased with the purchase and will use E-bay again.

I have had Mizuno, Titleist, Taylormade, and Callaway irons. and have just bought a set of Ping s58 and to be it has been the best set i have ever bought in my entire life. probably the most forgiving/Playable blabe like iron i have ever bought. including Mizuno MP 60, Callaway X-Forged, and Titleist 695 CB irons. Great for any low to mid handicap, and would highly recommend.

I had been playing with a set of i3 Blades and was impressed with the feel and striking of those irons, until I started swinging the S58s. If you have a craving to hit a solid iron with a true sweet spot, then this is your club. The muscle-back design has the striking ability of a forged blade, with the forgiveness of a cavity back. You cannot go wrong with these clubs. And if you shop around, you will not have to pay an arm and a leg to hit the ball like a pro! You friends will be jealous! Try them once and you will be hooked! Clubs were in great shape upon arrival. The ping s 58's are smooth to hit and allows for working the ball.
