Ping G5 Single Iron Golf Club

I'm a 64 year old with a bad back-what's new-pacemaker defibrillator with a 10 handicap. I have owned 3 sets of Ping G5s. Why? Everytime GolfDigest comes out with new clubs, I have to buy a set and henceforth sell my G5s on EBAY. I cannot find a better set of clubs, new styles and old that can match the forgiveness, distance and workability that my G5s possess. Although the club is a socalled "Game Improvement Club", I used them when I was a 5 handicapper and was able to work the ball. I owned the Ping Rapture Irons, but the G5s are superior in every way....don't let high priced clubs get in the way of more bang for the buck. The Wedges hit further and are great fairway clubs. Out of the sand consistently and short lobs or pitches are easy with great feedback and stop. Better than the F2s that I bought and only had for a week.

Best advise is to get fitted and demo all the clubs before you buy. Take a lesson if you are having problems with your present irons because your swing changes and you may find that the new clubs will hit differently.

This are the best Irons on the Market for your money. I bought the graphite shafts with make the clubs very light. The irons also make great contact with the ball without vibration. I would recommend these clubs to anyone and everyone!!!!!

Like I expect a lot of Ebay purchases, not something I really needed but the service was great. I am a happy Ebay person!

do not dislike anything about the clubs. the clubs feel great, the lie and loft are just right for my swing. in addition, the clubs are comparable to my rapture irons. the clubs were in excellent condtion when i purchsaed it on ebay.very satisfied with the transaction. bill miller

I should start with the caveat that I do not actually own the Ping G5 hybrids, but I have played with them a few times. Once I played 18 holes at Wolf Creek in Mesquite, Nevada - a very, very difficult course - and the G5 hybrid that was included in the rental bag got me out of some tough scrapes. The ball got up in the air nicely and flew very true.

I recently demo-ed the 22* during a round, and that's what got me looking on eBay to see what was on sale, because I want one! The thing about it is that, even when I made a bad swing, the ball flight was quite good. I hit it about 200 yards exactly and I found it very easy to control. On #18 I was just over 200 yards out in the fairway, and I hit a decent shot that ended up pin high in the right fringe, and it wasn't even my best swing - I could feel that my hands were late. If that had been a 3-iron I would have ended up 10 yards to the right.

So normally I don't write a review about a club I don't actually own, but I found the other two reviews misleading and irrelevant. I mean, what does the military not getting a discount have anything to do with the performance of the club? These reviews are about the clubs in particular, not a forum to vent against some sales rep for the company.

It's a good club, in my experience. I'm buying one ASAP.

I love how this club feels during my swing. I get a lot better results then with my old 5 iron.

May change all my clubs to PING clubs

My six iron is white dot, while my height is only 5 feet and 4 inches. So it was difficult to send balls straight.
I decided to change the club into black or red.
It worked perfectly as I expected

I received the golf club less than 72 hours after payment. The club was even better than described. I'm looking for more clubs from this seller!

This club is great. Shipping and packing were swift and secure. The club was in mint condition. Two weeks later it looked 2 years old though. I played it as my primary mid-iron for two rounds because I wanted to make sure this set would work for me. I'm off to buy a complete set. These Ping G5s rock!

The Ping G5 is a very forgiving golf club. The club a nice top line to set up at address. This club is easy to hit from any lie. The low center of gravity will really put the ball high into the air. This could by a problem if you play in the a lot of wind.

good solid club. gets it up fast and stays up. nice feel in your hand as you grip it.i love to play with it everyday.much better feel than my blades on off center hits.

Better Feeling Thank the G10s, I like the lite shaft and playability, excellent irons. Ping Irons last forever and really don't play much different than the newer, more expensive sets like the Raptures or G10s.

He made a mistake. Said he had a reserve. A second offer was submitted to me
for the same price I placed bid at. So I bought it & paid for it.
He sent me a message wanted another 15.00 Because of reserve.
I told him I will not. Send me the club or a refund.
took several days to get any response from him.
But he did give refund

It's good to buy one of these demo 6 irons which match your regular irons so you can hit it on the range without marking up your regular irons. Even on the good ranges, they have to put down a mixture of sand and seed to get the grass to grow back. So, your irons are hitting sand on the range and scratch up the face.

The club was as described and I am completely happy with it. The only thing was that shipping was a little high and when asked for a tracking # the seller responded "sure thing" but even after a 2nd email the club arrived and the email never did. So I wasn't sure of when to expect it and actually left on a golf trip and an hour later it was delivered. Wish I had of known I could have waited.

Item was incorrectly advertised. The itemm was advertised as a Ping G5 golf iron for sale, I received a Ping I5 iron. They are different versions of the Ping golf iron line. I went back & looked at the Ad picture and after looking at it with a magnifying glass, it had a I5 on the corner of the club not a G5. Both irons have the blue PING emblem. I Kept the I5 iron and am trying it on the golf course.

This club is great. It is light and easy to swing. Not whippy at all. After a 2 days at the driving range I was completely ready to switch from steel shafts to graphite.

If that wasn't enough the club's performance is great. My drive is longer and straighter than my steel clubs. I add at least 10-15 yards. Once I save up a little bit more money I'm buying an entire set.

If your wondering if this is for you. You could buy one or find a demo, but if you do, your going to want to buy it.

Always on the longer end of my range for this club, the G5 is easy to hit and consistently straight. With the regular flex graphite shaft, the club is very light. Swinging it makes it feel like the clubhead is a simple extension of me in addressing, contacting, and powering the ball to the green. I've had numerous golfers in my foursome borrow it and all have enjoyed remarkable shots with it. Figure out which shaft is best for you, and you can't go wrong with the G5.

The product was exactly as stated,perfect condition.the sale ended on a sunday,
I used paypal for the first time and recieved the club fast enough that I was able to use the club by the following weekend.(better than a retail store)
