These clubs can be great for you if you buy the right ones fit for you. Ping helps to make this easier, especially for you folks buying on Ebay, and not in a store. I did the static fit on Ping.com and previously had a local professional fit me dynamically. Because of this, I found the perfect match for me and I'm not afraid to buy them online. The website even tells you which shaft to go with if you know how far you typically hit your 6 iron. I found that by working on tempo and not trying to kill the ball, I am able to gain considerable distance and accuracy over my old irons (Titleist DCI 990) just by using these clubs and slowing it down a bit.

When you buy the proper length and lie, you will be amazed at how much better you strike the ball.

My point is this; get a solid fitting in before you buy any irons. They might be a good deal, but there is a reason Ping fits you to the club.

About the Ping irons. These irons play well. I found it easy to shape shots from right to left. It was a bit more difficult left to right, but I've never been able to do that well anyhow. Because I was able to let the club hit the ball and control my tempo better, the ball flight is consistent and the carry is, too. My accuracy has increased dramatically, as well. Especially from the 8 iron down to the pitching wedge. The shot trajectory is much higher and softer landing with these and I don't get a lot of roll. Again, especially from the 8 iron down.

I attribute a lot of the improvements to the change in my tempo, but I give the Pings the credit for helping me change the tempo of my swing and really feel what I am doing with the shot more than that of other irons I have hit. Mishits are not so bad either. You really have to shank the ball or leave the clubface open to mess a shot up with these.

Expect to pay more for the various graphite shafts. The Ping custom WRX clubs are usually more as well. If you find a set of Pingss with a matching sand wedge, jump on them because the sand wedges are hard to find individually.

A lot of times, the owners name has been applied to the club. I found you can get this off easily with acetone and light sandpaper if it is screened in and not etched. You might ask the seller when this is listed this way.

In addition, if you are not very good at the long irons (2,3, and 4) you may want to look at the G5 hybrids. I have them too. If you hit the ball hard, but typically slice or hook, the hybrids dramatically reduce the mishit effect.

Be careful when bidding. There are some demo clubs floating around out there. Check with the seller for serial numbers as all Ping consumer clubs have them. Pay attention to feedback scores. This is Ebay's barometer of service. I swear by the feedback system.

What a legendary set of irons. By far the best PING has ever produced. Great looking at address as well as in the bag. PING should re-release them so every PING fan can experience them. The ball feels great coming off the face, club is well balanced. I own 2 sets of PING's the other being the ISI in nickel.

Have owned three sets of Pings; the 2+ and just the 2.  The 2+ are a little easier to hit off soft turf because of the blunt leading edge on the sole, but as many others have said, the irons are legendary, very easy to square at setup, and reasonable distance with everything from 3 - pw.  If you buy, try to make sure you get either the square grooves or the modified square grooves; make a big difference to stopping the ball on fast/hard greens.  The best way to make these irons work for you is to have real good tempo in your swing.  Its not necessary to try and hammer the ball.  The irons will give you the distance and you can work the ball relatively easy.  When you hit the sweet spot the feeling of the shot is fantastic.  You know you've hit well even before you catch sight of the ball in the air. The irons are also very accurate provided you're square at impact. If you buy off Ebay, ask as many questions as possible, such as the patent #'s in the cavity (tells you the age of the irons, are you looking as the square groove model), the serial # on the hosel (is it a matched set?), and what is the shipping price? (some sellers tend to gouge on shipping). All in all very good irons to purchase.

I concur with many other golfers who feel the Ping Eye 2's are the best set of irons ever made. I have played them for nearly 15 years I really can't see me ever playing another iron unless some new breakthrough in technology renders these obsolete. They are easy hit and very forgiving yet at the same time allows the better player to manipulate the ball. The deep cavity backs and the square grooves on the faces changed the way clubs were made forever and there is a reason for that.

I found a nice used set of golf clubs for my stepson. I won the auction, and found the clubs to be what I was looking for, and he was happy with them as well. I have had overall good experiences but it seems to me that the shipping costs are exaggerated. The clubs that I shipped after I won them, cost approx. half for me to ship to him. I was in the market for a different set of clubs. I was playing the Mizuno T-Zoid Pro, but needed something a little more forgiving. I purchased the Pings and T-Zoid Comp EZ. The reason I purchased the Pings was because of the reviews and many of my friends play them today and love them. I purchased my set for $90 dilivered to my house so I can't complain about the price, but the clubs fall way short compared to the Comp EZ's! They do set up nice at address and they look good but they are no where near as forgiving as the Comp EZ's and do not feel as solid. If you do not hit it solid you will be penalized and severly in both distance and accuracy. Even good shots felt weak and hollow. My ball flight was considerably higher and I liked that, but overall I would have to say they are a bit overrated. I would and will stick to Mizuno for a forged club but I will keep these just to say I own some Pings!

The Ping Eye 2 golf clubs were in great condition. In my opinion, they were better than described in the sales description. The grips are in playable condition, there are no pre-required steps needed to be able to put these clubs to use as soon as possible. The finish on the heads are very presentable. The feel of the clubs make it easy to visualize the golf ball following the desired flight along the course. I am looking forward to many years of enjoyable golf with these clubs.

I won these Ping Eye 2 Plus Irons (3-W) for a great price. I used to have these irons in the early 1990s. I saw this set available in amazing condition and the bidding was pretty low for what they usually go for. These irons are VERY forgiving on miss-hits and are playable enough if you want to shape a shot. These irons are classics, and if you can find some for $150 (total, with shipping) you should pick some up.

I've played Ping Eye 2+ irons for many years and just loved them. Then I started up the Ping line of product, ISI, i3, G5, and now I'm playing G2's because I like them better than the G5 irons. But of late I just purchased another set of Ping Eye 2's and I'm going to give them another chance. They are not as long as the newer irons but accurate and confidence is what you want. I recently purcased a set of Ping Eye 2 + Irons. The condition was exactly as advertised and were sent to me in a very timely manner. They are great golf clubs, can't wait to use them on the course this weekend. I decided to buy them because they were a very good buy and they, again, are the best clubs Ping ever made.

Coming back to golf. Was in the business. Ping gives more to a shot than any other club brand I know. Very happy with purchase.

The club heads were in good shape, the shafts were OK they did show allot more wear than the pictures had shown. The grips will be replaced. Overall the clubs will be OK.
