This is just a wonderful wedge. It's easy to hit out of anything and you can hit any shot with this club. You can open up the face for nice lob shots. The copper material gives it a nice soft feel that is wonderful to chip around the greens with and hit full shots. I've had the Lob wedge and then swaped to a Sand wedge because I wanted a less lofted club. The lofts are 61 on the Lob and 57.5 on the Sand. This is just a nice club to have, they are somewhat rare since they are no longer making them. I won't be getting rid of this one.

Bottom Line: For the feel and results around the green there is no other 61 degree wedge to have in your bag. It's a timeless piece of equipment.

very good club for lob approach shots with spin. gives you a lot of spin and control; easy to hit as well. the becu material and square grooves work very well to allow the player to perform according to his intended shot paths.

Quite possibly the best sand wedge ever made. The feel you get from beryllium copper is equalled by no other clubhead material used today. The square grooves on the original Ping eye 2 irons put more spin on the ball than any other irons I have owned.Buy this club and you will never hit anything else.

One of Pings most popular clubs for several reasons:

This club has the softest feel on impact that I've ever experienced. The copper material actually gives you feedback about how hard the ball is hit. This makes for gaging strength versus distance relationships more accurately, which translates to more accurate shots and a deadly short game. I've noticed the grooves are still very unique to this item, because they are spaced a little more tightly that the more modern wedges. Much more backspin action possibilities on the green. With out a doubt, this is a decidedly handsome and unique looking club, thus making it a highly "collectable" prize. I would recommend a club head cover be utilized as much as possible, especially in very public areas around the clubhouse, to keep probing eyes and hands at bay.

If you can't carry a 64 wedge, a 60 can do the job. I use 5 wedges, and ya run
out of room in the bag with 14 clubs. I'm trying to get along witout my 64
wedge this year. I carry a 4 to 60wedge, a driver, putter, and a 3 metal. My
new lob wedge could be the shot maker.
