If you are a country or New Orleans blues fan, especially 1950s and before then this is another keeper for your collection. The Pig N Whistle was a barbeque restaurant in Atlanta, and McTell played there as Pig N Whistle Red in the 1950s. The recordings have an informal live set feel, with asides to the other musicians. The recording clarity is excellent and the songs just don't get old. Most of McTell's songs refer to Georgia and Tennessee, and hobo rides on trains. His guitar technique is amazing, And no one sings the Blues like Willie McTell! What a great CD!
