Pictorial Guide to Silvered Mercury Glass by Diane C. Lytwyn (2005, Paperback)

My daughter and I have collected glassware for years. We have a small collection of mercury glass. To aid in identification of our glassware, I have acquired a small library of books. I did not have one for mercury glass.

The explanation regarding silvered glass and mercury glass and English and American production was informative. The author created a readable history including sealing methods and included reproductions of ads and labels.

The photographs of the individual pieces were of good quality. The descriptions were detailed.

There was a lack of information on less decorated pieces, perhaps better described as commoner or perhaps more recent pieces, as only the extremely decorated items were illustrated.
