  Zeppelin's top album

This my my favorite Led Zeppelin album. I just listened to it on a road trip to LA and realized how much I love it. You'll hear a number of classic Zep tunes on this album that never get much air time, including Down By The Seaside and The Rover. Led Zeppelin II is close, but Physical Graffiti is incredible.

Physical Graffiti - This is a double CD that is well worth the money. Every song of this album is great. Very few CD's can say that, even when you really like the band. If you are a fan of bluesy rock, this album is for you.

  Probably Page's Best Work
Review created: 07/04/07

This double album actually warranted being issued as a double album. No filler here! The band was in top form. The rhythm section of Bonham and Jones was swinging for the fences, Plant's banshee wail hadn't faded at the high end yet, and Page showed a mastery of his Gibson that mere mortals are not capable of. "Down By The Seaside" is a great example of a Zep song that just doesn't get the airplay it deserves. The shimmering liquidity of the guitar work on this track is probably one of the greatest examples of an instrument representing water ever laid down in a studio. The epic drone and Middle Eastern flavor of "Kashmir" needs no comment. "Night Flight" and "Boogie With Stu" are typical of Zeppelin in that they aren't like anything any other band at the time dared to put out. If you wish to introduce someone to the grand majesty of Led Zeppelin, this is a great place to start. Not a single dud, hard rockin' tracks, and some of their mellower material as well. It really shows the great versatility these rock gods possessed in their collective abilities. In my opinion, it is a better album for the beginning Led Zeppelin fan than their unnamed fourth album (Zoso) if only because they will probably not be as familiar with every track and the quality of the music is much more representative of their total career output. Enjoy!

  Led Zeppelin rules

This is such a strong release. It has songs from just about every type of genre that modern music has to offer. Hard rock, blues, even country is represented here very well. This is probably my favorite Zep title, from the opener "Custard Pie" til the end of "Sick Again" I don't think that there is a bad, yet alone even a mediocre tune here. This is a timeless classic, and if you don't yet own it you should check it out (give it a listen on a streaming site of your choice) and see if you'd like it as much as I do.

  ZEPPELIN'S FINEST MOMENT

No doubt about it, Led Zeppelin's "Physical Graffiti" finds that band at the absolute pinnacle of their artistic and creative prowess. From the dramatic guitar riff on the ablum's opening cut (Custard Pie) to the bluesy metal drone of the the last track (Sick Again), Zeppelin's sonic capabilities were (and remain) unmatched.
Standout tracks: The Rover, Kashmir, Ten Years Gone, Sick Again.

This is the most balanced, but yet the heaviest Zep album produced. The first cd is heavy, and the second is almost like a progressive album, awsome!

Crank it up and love every second of it. This is Zeppelin at it's best. If it's too loud.....you're too old.

  LED ZEPPELIN*PHYSICAL GRAFFITI
Review created: 05/10/09

Led Zeppelin in top form at the heigth of their rock. Houses of the Holy...Kashmir...Bron-yr-aur...Down by the Seaside...only great tunes on this former double 'album'. Great on vinyl with the peek-ee-boo windows on the cover.

It's nice to have a place where you can find things from the past. This was a CD I bought years ago and lost. Ebay allows you to find items you couldn't find elsewhere.

The best of their albums in my opinion. They do hard rock as well as "country-like" tunes. It's Led Zeppelin. I need not say more.

Physical Graffiti [Remaster] - Led Zeppelin (CD 1994)
Review created: 10/12/07

PG is the classic example of a double album that should have been a single album. Kashmir, In the Light, and Ten Years Gone maintain LZ's tradition of creative hard rock. However, there is way too much mindless hard rock filler. In My Time of Dying must have been stretched out just to fill up an album side -- listening to it is like a long, painful death. Since less is more, PG could have been a five star but I can only give it four.
