php for starters
When I purchased this book, I hadn't had much exposure to PHP, so I really was a beginner. Having read through the book, a lot of the theory matched what I had previously read about and experimented with, but it seemed to be explained a little better.
This book has some good examples and contains snippets of code that can be extracted and used in real world situations. They are easy to follow and usually well explained.
It doesn't cover that much ground, but enough to get started with PHP and create static and dynamic web pages. It's a great book for beginners and I've even used it as a good reference point over the last year.
It comes as a paperback, but the paper/cover quality isn't what I expected. It's a very flimsy book, however, for the price and the content within, I can live with that!
