Purchased this off Ebay, seller advertised as " refurbished " item did show some signs of use such as minor scratches to outside case ( i expected this )
Anyways to get to my review, i had compared many portable dvd players before purchasing this one and there were 3 i was considering at first including Panasonic, Sony and this Philips model PET1002.
This player has a wonderful picture, the resolution is way better than any model i tested and the 10.2" screen is really nice. The remote control is easy to use and the adjustments are easy to make. NOTE : mess with the audio adjustments because they actually effect the maximum volume of this player, i had read many reviews saying the volume was extremely low when turned up and mine was to when i received it but after making a few adjustments in the Audio settings the volume increased noticeably.
There are a couple minor flaws i don't like but can live with, first off if your watching a dvd movie and stop the movie and shut player off .. then when you turn back on it will not start from where you left off, you have to fast forward to the part. The other minor flaw is the noisy drive at start up, don't be alarmed by the loud grinding sound as this model does this .. once movie starts it does quiet down nicely and with the volume up you don't hear the disc drive at all.
I personally wouldn't pay $250 - $300 for this player like i have seen some people do but believe me if you get a chance to get one for between $100-$200 it's a great deal. You'll be amazed of the picture clarity of the 10.2" lcd screen.
I have been using mine for about a month now and love it, i have not had any problems as to date.
