Philips GoGear SA5285 (8 GB) Digital Media Player

Overall I give this player high ratings. The device is well designed, has pleasant appearance and feels weighty, but not heavy it hands. The size is a good fit (not too large) while providing a large viewing screen (2.8 inches). Controls are easy to use. Sound quality is good and the screen is crisp and bright. The video is easy to add using the media converter software. While I think drag and drop AVI video is an option, being sure the files meet all of the player requirements to function properly can be tricky. I've tested all of the functions minus the voice capture and pictures, which is usually a throw in features. If voice capture quality is important, you probable want a device built for that purpose. I've tested the picture feature on other Philip players and they seem to perform well. The only minus I've found is the FM Tuner quality. The reception is okay, but not as strong as I would have liked for a player of this quality. Overall I highly recommend this player. Go for it.

Nice screen. Froze when I first started playing music and messing around with it but the firmware upgrades handled that. Sound is IPOD or better at least. Very impressed.

For the price of this particular model of mp3 player, let me tell you it is past my expectations tremendously. you have several basics and some extra when it comes to this model. easy downloads, great playback and sound. but most of all the added earbud earphones are top quality. only the boss stylye might rival

Easy to navigate, I use it to listen to books and had more than enough space to add some music and pictures.

This is so far the best quality MP3/MP4 player I have had. style , sound quality, headphones I give 5 stars, extra large LCD screen is perfect size for viewing video and photos.

It is quite sturdy, not likely to break if dropped. Has good storage capacity and even voice recording options.

GoGear has the best the sound quality of any of the players that I have heard; but way too many glitches. I've purchased 2 of them and had to return them as both of them kept locking up. When they did play, you didn't know how long they would play before something happened. Very easy to work with, well thought out, easy tp program, etc. But, not worth the frustration of knowing that it was going to screw up pretty soon. So, could not use it for jogging, napping, etc.
