Philips DVDR3455/37 (160 GB) DVD Recorder / HDD Recorder

This is a Great DVD/HDD Recorder, it has alot of great features like the 160gb hardrive and 200 hours of record time so u will never miss any of your favorite program anymore, this dvd recorder lets you Play digital photos and music from your USB device. Great for the busy business person, or anyone that is always on the go, that would never like to miss another show again.

Simple, logical controls, easy editing, even the stuff that at first seems like a pain to navigate keeps you from accidental erasing and such. Nice crispy clear tuners both NTSC (Anolog)and ASCI (digital). Replacing a malfunctioning panasonic dvd-ram recorder and the Philips tuner and recording quality far outways the additional 8hr max. RAM feature of the panasonic units.
I bought it for picture quality first and received much, much more. I record almost everything I watch and this is the only way to go.

Probably will be surpassed soon, but this HDD Recorder is OUTSTANDING in its field! High Def will SOON make this a THING of the past, but currently; this machine is at the forefront of its field. Buy one now or one year later buy it's equivalent at the next level of HD. Simply OUTSTANDING!!!

I bought this Philips DVDR3455/37 system several weeks ago to replace an old DVD recorder that died.I bought this system after comparing many systems for features and price. I was impressed with the DVDR (HDD) feature best,as it lets me record my TV programs that I like to watch in DVD quality,while I am at work.The DVD recorder is also very good,but it took several tries to get it figured out as the remote control is not its best feature.Once I got the remote features figured out(the owners manual needs to be written better,maybe grouping the most used features together) this system is one of the best out there for the money.I also like the YESDVD feature it is awesome for recording your pictures to DVDs.Overall the only thing I don't like is that,it didn't come with a digital tuner which would have made it perfect.

I think this unit is great. I haven't tried all the features yet but it is similar to TIVO and easier to use. I especially like the Live pause feature and the hi-speed copy feature. I decided to purchase this unit because it was the only one listed a 'NEW in Box'. I couldn't pass up the price; however, I discovered it was refurbished. All in all it works great
