Philips DVDR3390/37 DVD Recorder

Would be great item, if I could figure it out and how to operate it. I need to it to copy DVD of items that I tape

Dear Sirs, I payed for this DVDR 3390/37 I never got it; even the money is not yet whisdrawed from my account. I wrote you about that issue but I still without answer from you.

I bid on this item because I wanted to record onto DVD's events of my life to leave as a legacy to my children at some point in time. by putting home videos onto DVD i knew they would last longer than VHS tapes.. I have custody of two of my grandchildren and they have had a rough life so far.. and I was hoping to allow them the opportunity to view their life later to see, it was not all that bad.. they both swim and I wanted to record those events.. also. My granddaughter is becoming quite the little singer in church and I also wanted to capture those events also for their future families.. too.. life goes by so fast, and i know in my case i've sometimes missed some of the very precious moments.. I take lots of pictures also to savor our life together. This life is not what i wanted at my age nor did these two children ever thing they would not have a mom or dad to share their lives with.. this DVD will allow me to give back to them some of the joys and love that i've received from them for the past 10 years.. they are growing up. I have lots of VHS to transfer to the DVD now and can also continue to capture as much of their future as I can now. Thanks to the seller for being patient with me. I was so reluctant to purchase this product due to only one persons previous feedback .. but I prayed and the item i got from this seller was just fine.. My worry was all in my head.. but being a grandmother living on one pay check.. no husband, no help financially from anyone.. I just don't have money to throw away on a product that does not work. but this transaction was all good.. the only problem is that I was reluctant.. nothing else. thanks for a very nice dvd/recorder that will surely be put to much good.. I decided to buy it by cost performance. The function of this DVD player is poor if I review the function with other expensive one. But My purpose was cost. It's OK.

I like this unit because the price was right,i do not have any dislikes,i bought it cuz i like to record movies.i actually bought a couple of them for the family.i think they are o.k ....

I used this DVD recorder with lot of success without going through the owners manual and the quality was good.
May main reson was to convert HI8 video tapes into a DVD.
I think it is the best way to do it instead using a software in the computer.
I'm happy for the purchase.

The shipping whas very fast and the service was non to one, the system did not work inmediatelly "but that was operator error" so far an exelent experience

This DVD machine was everything it was advertised to be with one exception. It was not set up to be region free out of the box. It was however quite simple to Google up a Hack sequence that worked first time on this set and to overcome its regional setting. It works well and is certainly at the right price. All you have to do is take the make and model number and ask Google for a region free hack instruction.It magically appears righ there on the little blue screen right in front of you.

I wanted a region free DVD player and recorder that I can watch many of my European and Asian DVD disks. This is a light and easy to install piece. Very compact and thin, and the color is not too garish. It arrived well packed and quite faster than I expected. In 15 minutes or so I was able to play a DVD and in an hour, I was recording directly from my monitor. I had to get a code from the net and make it completely region free and I also was able to get a newer firmware from the manufacturer site to update the set.The remote didn't come with batteries which was strange since most sets nowadays include batteries. The smooth and fast operation of the set is amazing, I can even erase and edit as I am recording. I will recommend this for the costs and the fair shipping prize, and I am sure I will use this for as long as it is not broken. But I have already enjoyed it for a long time.

I really don't have any idea if this item is good or not. I purchased a refurbished one and it was dead on arrival.
Seller was nice to refund my money including shipping and handling.
Lesson learned - Never buy a refurbished product again, not worth the hassles.

This was exactly the product I wanted - to replace a defunct VCR. Though it works mechanically just fine, there is a problem with the color during playback - all greens and reds. While I like Christmas, I would like correctness in DVD color.

Can't figure out how to correct it . . .

This was one of the hardest DVD player/recorder to hook up that I have ever purchased. Tried to hook up along with TIVO and my TV, finally gave up on that and hooked it up directly to a TV that I have in my bedroom. The instruction manual is of no help.

This one is the one that I like the best, out of the three DVDR's that I have! The best feature is that it is "region free", or region 0. The display lets you know what the thing is doing, (loading disk, ejecting disk, play, esc...)it makes the recorder easy to use. The one thing that I don't like is that all the higher functions are controlled off the remote. The face has basic controls, but you will need the remote to work most of the functions! (with this in mind don't loose the remote, it will cost you about $45.00 to replace it) After all is said and done, the DVDR is a excellent unit, and I am glad that I have bought it!

Is easy to use, can be even easier, I would like to the product give you more freedom to make chapters
Overall is a good product Easy to program in case you want to record when you are not in home
